Science information for 2023

To date, 112 research projects are being implemented by our university in the field of science for a total amount of financing of 4.6 billion tenge.

One of the most significant achievements is that our university won a 4 billion tenge mega-project "Development of new technologies for organic production and processing of agricultural products" in the competition for program-targeted financing for 2023-2025. The purpose of the program is to develop new technologies for organic production and processing of agricultural products based on the principles of the "green economy" and the formation of regional technology parks and engineering centers in the agro-industrial complex.

This year, program-targeted financing is being implemented, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan – 2 projects in the amount of 1 094 644 460.27 tenge. It is worth noting that as part of the implementation of program-targeted financing, Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where the co–executor is KATI- 2 projects in the amount of 18 000 000.00 tenge. Program-targeted financing is also being implemented, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where KATRU is the head and co–executor - 10 projects in the amount of 1 981 444 382.78 tenge. Grant financing projects are being implemented - 66 projects in the amount of 1,425,598,031.30 tenge

In 2023, contract research is being implemented – 32 in the amount of    139 575 619.40 tenge.

As part of the grant financing of young scientists "Zhas Galim" for 2023-2025, 2 projects of our young scientists G.T. Ismagulova and R. Elnazarkyzy were approved for financing for a total amount of 46 732 301.80 tenge.

In 2023, an agreement was signed on the international project "Creation of promising potato lines based on the genetic resources of the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Kazakhstan" with the Chinese company Shisen in the amount of 16.5 million tenge.

-By Order of  Committee for Quality Assurance in the Field of Science and Higher Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan № 838 dated 12.24.2021, journals are included in the list of publications recommended by Committee for Quality Assurance in the Field of Science and Higher Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for publishing the main results of scientific activities (in agricultural and veterinary areas). The journal is indexed in CABI (Centre for Agriculture and bioscience international), Kazakhstan Citation Database (KazСD); Russian Science Citation Index.

Since January 1, 2023, the journal Bulletin of Science of S. Seifullin KATRU has been transformed by dividing the journal into series, now articles on veterinary sciences are published in a separate series: Bulletin of Science of S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University: Veterinary Sciences.

On August 25, 2023, together with the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a forum of young scientists on priority areas of science development "Sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex and safety of agricultural products", "Rational use of water resources, flora and fauna, ecology" and "Scientific research in the field of natural sciences" was held on the basis of our university.

It is also worth noting that the teacher of our university Alpysbaeva Galiya Aitpaevna became the winner of the annual competition "The best researcher" in 2023 in the field of Humanities and Arts.

In 2023, 3 teachers were awarded state scientific scholarships: Maykanov Balgabai Sadepovich, Sherov Karibek Tagayevich, Auteleeva Laura Tyulegenovna.

In 2023, 37 people won the Bolashak 500 Scientific Internships project.

In the direction of commercialization of the results of scientific research, 6 scientific projects are being implemented in production for a total amount of 2.9 billion tenge.


According to the results of the competition for young scientists for grant funding for scientific and (or) scientific and technical projects for 2023-2025, by the decision of the National Scientific Councils on priority areas "Sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex and safety of agricultural products" (Protocol No. 2 of April 10, 2023)  project were approved:  AP19576848 «Development of dry, waterproof, full-ration extruded feed based on a symbiotic recipe to increase fish productivity and assess the quality of fish products» (director - Paritova A. Ye.).

In accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 19, 2011 No. 830 "On prizes in the field of science and state scientific scholarships" and on the basis of the decision of the final meeting of the Competition Commission for the review of materials and preparation of decisions on the award of the 2022 prizes in the field of science and state scientific scholarships dated December 20, 2022 No. 2, a state scholarship and a scholarship for young scientists were awarded to the following university scientists:

In order to encourage scientists and researchers who have contributed to the development of science and technology, the Science Committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan annually awards prizes and state scientific scholarships. Applicants for these awards can be researchers who are actively involved in conducting fundamental or applied scientific research in priority areas for the state, training scientific personnel.

Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University" (hereinafter - the Journal) is included in the list of publications recommended by the Committee for Quality Assurance in Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan on technical sciences.

The journal publishes original articles of an applied and fundamental nature, reflecting the results of scientific research in various fields of agricultural, biological, chemical, technical, economic sciences, natural, social and humanitarian sciences.

The purpose of a scientific publication is to publish original scientific articles that meet modern requirements of theory and best practice. The journal serves as a platform for communication between Kazakhstan and foreign scientists, highly professional specialists and novice researchers on topical issues of agricultural science and production.

Starting from the first issue of 2019, the "KATU Science Herald" has been indexed by the international organization CAB International

CAB International is an international organization consisting of 28 countries - members of the British Commonwealth, now it includes 40 countries. Indexation of our journal gives us an opportunity to disseminate our scientific results, and to apply scientific knowledge in developing countries to ensure their sustainable development. The CAB Abstracts database indexes literature published in more than 50 languages in more than 150 countries. This is one of the ways our journal has entered the international scientific-and-educational space.


S.Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University for the first time became the administrator of 4 programs for result-oriented budgeting of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2018-2020:

  1. «Transfer and adaptation of technologies for precision agriculture in crop production according to the "demonstration farms" (polygons) principle in the North Kazakhstan region»;
  2. «Transfer and adaptation of innovative technologies for optimization of production processes in dairy farms of Northern Kazakhstan»;
  3. «Scientific and technological support of processing enterprises of the agro-industrial complex in order to increase their efficiency and competitiveness»;
  4. «Mycorrhizal macromycetes of the main forest-forming species of Central and North Eastern Kazakhstan and their use for artificial mycorrhization of forest tree seedlings».

In addition, the administrator 1 of the result-oriented budgeting of the Ministry of  Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2018-2020.:

  1. «Application of the molecular genetics achievements to create new highly productive breeding lines of common wheat, barley and chickpea, adapted to the climatic conditions of Northern and Central Kazakhstan».

The total amount of funding for result-oriented budgeting for 2018 amounted to 628,169,900 tenge.


In 2018, the faculty of the university published 119 articles in journals included in the Web of Science and Scopus database.

In the same year, the university was awarded for the growth of publications in the cited editions included in the Scopus database, at the First Scientific Forum "Award Ceremony and Science Forum" held on November 13 in Astana.


Achievements of teaching staff in scientific-research activities

According to the results of the year 2016, the best article is the article published in the Thomson Reuters database in the scientific journal Frontiers in Plant Science with impact factor - 4,495. The authors of this article are Shavrukov Y., Zhumalin A., Serikbay D., Botayeva M.,  Otemisova A., Absattarova A., Sereda G., Sereda S., Shvidchenko V., Turbekova A., Jatayev S., Lopato S., Soole K., Langridge P. «Expression Level of the DREB2-Type Gene, Identified with Amplifluor SNP Markers, Correlates with Performance, and Tolerance to Dehydration in Bread Wheat Cultivars from Northern Kazakhstan».

 In 2016, according to the “Regulations on the system of material encouragement of teaching staff, departments and faculties" the dean of the technical faculty, Ph.D. Sayakhat Nukeshev was recognized as a winner in the nomination "Efficient scientist”.

According to the results of research activities Agronomy Faculty has been recognized as “the Best Faculty" for the collective achievements and the Department of Agriculture and crop production has won in the nomination “Best Department”.

In the framework of the competition for the awards in the field of science and state scientific scholarship the doctor of biological sciences Balgabay Maykanov  and the doctor of technical sciences Vladimir Gruzin have been awarded with the state scientific scholarship as well as  Dulat Ibraev has been awarded with the the prize for young scientists in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan №675 "On awarding nominal prizes in the field of science and the state scientific scholarships in 2016" dated November 28, 2016.

The next meeting of Scientific and Technical Council

On June 24-25, 2014 the next meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council (STC) of "The S. Seifullin Kazakh Agro technical University" JSC took place.
Members of STC, including representatives of the Republican center for breeding in animal husbandry, Kazakhstan Scientific and Technological Center of Development of Housing and Communal Services Ltd, the international commission on environmental protection took part in the work of STC, the teaching staff of the University and other organizations.
During the work of Scientific and Technical Council the reports of faculties deans who submitted programs of research activity development of the chairs for 2013-2015 and activities for performance of indicators of realization of activities of the Program of development of S. Seifullin KATU for the first half of the year 2014 were heard.
The chairmen of the commissions on updating of scientific themes of master's and doctor's dissertation theses reported on STC results of the carried-out work in this way themes in a section of specialties of a magistracy and doctoral studies.
The report of the curator of RSW on research work of students of university in 2013-2014 academic year has been heard.





The company "Elsevier "on the basis of the S. Seifullin Kazakh agro technical university held an author's seminar "Art of Writing of Scientific works"
The Department of science and innovative activity together with Scientific library on March 4, 2014 on the basis of the S. Seifullin Kazakh agro technical university organized an author's seminar "Art of Writing of Scientific works" of the Elsevier company."Elsevier" is the world's largest publishing house proposing products and innovative solutions in the field of science, educations and medicine.
Working in the partnership with hundreds of world scientific and medical communities and associations, "Elsevier" issues more than 2500 magazines, including such the world famous as The Lancet and Cell, and also about 20000 books and a reference media from such publishers as Mosby and Saunders which are a part of "Elsevier".
For Kazakhstan and the CIS countries "Elsevier" offers not only global but also local products and decisions which it is possible to study on the affiliated Russian-speaking sites: Science & Technology and Health Sciences.
Doctoral candidates, undergraduates, teaching staff and also representatives of other scientific and educational institutions took part in the work of the seminar.
Upon termination of the seminar to listeners certificates were handed.
