Saken Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University is the largest agricultural and technical university in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The university is one of the leaders in domestic high education. In 2012, according to the rating of the international agency QS, the university was ranked 601+, among 8 Kazakhstani universities, annually in the ranking of universities in Eastern Europe and Central Asia QS UniversityRankings: EECA 2018 the university is in the top +200.
In 2018, in the National ranking of the demand for universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, KATU entered the top 20 universities of Kazakhstan and took 4th place, in 2019 it was 3rd place, and in 2020 the indicators improved to 2nd place. In the rating of educational programs of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Atameken” in 2019 among agricultural universities, S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University took 1st place.
In January 2019, a memorandum of understanding was signed with AgroParisTech and Agreenium (France) and work was carried out to develop 7 joint educational programs for master and bachelor's degrees. Their training in these programs began in 2020.
The university has a modern material and technical base, modern scientific laboratories, 9 technological platforms, agricultural grounds with an area of 1300 hectares for practical training of students.
Together with foreign partners, in particular the University of California at Davis (USA), a program has been developed to transform KATU into a world-class research university in the field of agriculture in the Republic of Kazakhstan. On September 1, 2020, by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the non-commercial joint-stock company "S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University" was assigned the status of the Research one. The university included Scientific and Production Center for Grain Farming named after A.I. Baraeva, North Kazakhstan Agricultural Experimental Station, Kazakh Scientific Research Institute of Forestry and Agroforestry for scientific research and practical training of students.
