The first coordination meeting by Erasmus+ project at KATU
From the period of February 29 and March 2, 2016 the first Coordination meeting with partner universities by SARUD project «Sustainable development of agriculture and rural areas", implemented within the European Union Erasmus + program was held at Saken Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical University (hereinafter - KATU).
The aim of the project is to develop a relevant, attractive for students, adapted to the conditions of Kazakhstan graduate program for the development of rural areas. The project involves 11 HEIs from Kazakhstan, Germany, Russia, the Czech Republic and Poland.
The project coordinator is Hohenheim University (Germany, Stuttgart), one of the leading research agrarian universities in Europe.
The coordination meeting was attended by Anna Voitenko, the administrative coordinator of Hohenheim University (Germany), project participants - members of working groups of A.Baitursynov Kostanay State University, Sh. Valikhanov Kokshetau State University, KATU as well as non-academic partners RPA (Republican Public Association) "Union of Farmers of Kazakhstan" and ALE (Association of Legal Entities) "Association of forest organizations and forest products “Zhasyl Orman".
Mogilnyy S.V., Deputy Chairman of the Board for Strategic Planning, Science and International Cooperation of Saken Seifullin KATU gave welcoming remarks and a brief presentation for the participants of the meeting.
Satenbayev E.N., Deputy Chairman of the Board for Science of the NAREC "National Agricultural Research and Education Center" also welcomed the participants of the Coordination meeting where he pointed out the project support and confidence in its successful implementation.
The educational standards in Kazakhstan, analysis of the situation in the field of rural development and the requirements of potential employers to the future graduates of the new master's program were discussed in the framework of the working meeting. Scientific experts from Czech University of Life Sciences, University Hohenheim and K.A. Timiryazev Moscow Agricultural Academy took an active part in the discussions on-line.
Following the meeting it was agreed a plan of actions for the implementation of the project recommendations for its further advancement. The next coordination meeting is scheduled for April of this year and will take place in Omsk, Russian Federation, on the basis of P.A. Stolypin Omsk State Agrarian University.
