Multilingual education in S.Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical University
S.Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical University (further - KATU) among the first 20 higher education institutions of RK, realizes multilingual education. Multilingual education process at higher institution is a purposeful activity of structural subdivisions of the university on language training realization of qualified, competitive, specialists proficient in Kazakh, Russian and English language, and also corresponding level of academic writing in English.
At present, the total number of multilingual educational programs includes 12 bachelor programs, 31 programs for magistracy and 22 programs for doctoral studies. There are 65 programs in three levels.
It should be noted that, compared to 2012, the number of multilingual educational programs has increased by 8 times, which indicates an increasing interest in polyglot education.

Also, an important indicator of the effectiveness of the implementation of the Program at the university is the increase the number of students of multilingual groups, which indicates an increase in the motivation of students, undergraduates and doctoral students to study multilingual education.

If in 2012, the proportion of students in these groups (according to planned and actual indicators) was 5% or 153, than in 2019 this figure rose to 2223, which is 17.1%.

For the purpose to monitor the foreign language proficiency level of multilingual groups’ learners, IC and MEDC organizes entrance, intermediate and final testing of a computer format in the beginning of an academic year and at the end of every semester.
Aiming to monitor teaching quality in multilingual groups, IC and MEDC together with faculties hold sociological survey of learners and teachers every year.
Annually, to improve the language training of teachers at the university, courses are conducted with a native speaker. During the 2016-17 academic year, 180 university professors attended English language courses with native speakers from the UK and Australia. In December 2017, teachers attended intensive English courses with a teacher from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Totally for 2014-2017 10 native speakers from Great Britain, USA, Australia, Hungary, Malaysia, Singapore, Bosnia and Herzegovina conducted English language courses for teachers of reading disciplines in English.
