On June 16, 2025, the Opening Ceremony of the X International Summer School "Ecotourism: Harmony of Man and Nature" took place. It was organized by the Department of Forest Resources and Forestry, Faculty of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment of S. Seifullin. Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University. The participants of the international summer school were welcomed by Boranbay Zh.T., Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment. Professors from near and far abroad gave welcome speeche to the participants of the international summer school, noting the need for active development of ecotourism as an important sector of the economy, emphasizing the importance of preserving the nature and culture of the country: Javier Rodrigo Illari, University of Valencia (Spain), Andrew Egan, University of Maine at Fort Kent (USA), Said Laaribia, Ibn Tofayl University (Morocco), Sarah Boyd, Dublin University of Technology (Ireland), Kutay Oktay, Kastamonu University (Turkey), Sarsekova D.N., Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (Kazakhstan), Samandarzody I.Kh., Tajik Agrarian University (Tajikistan), Abduvasikov A.A., Tashkent State Agrarian University (Uzbekistan).
The goal of the summer school is to create conditions for the formation of environmental culture, professional competencies in the field of sustainable tourism among students and young specialists, as well as the development of practical skills in interacting with the natural environment, taking into account the principles of environmental protection and sustainable development.
The summer school will be held from June 16 to 20, 2025 (online), and from June 23 to 27 offline on the campus of the Faculty of Forestry, Forestry and Environmental Protection at the Sary-Arka Scientific and Production Complex.
During the two-week summer school, students will learn a lot of useful information about ecotourism in the USA, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Spain, Turkmenistan, Poland, Ireland, Morocco and Kazakhstan.
