On August 27, 2025, a delegation from Tarim University of the People’s Republic of China paid an official visit to Saken Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical Research University (KATRU) in Astana. The visit aimed to strengthen long-term academic and scientific cooperation between the two institutions.
Rector of KATRU, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, Kanat Tireuov, welcomed the guests and emphasized the strategic importance of bilateral cooperation.
“Our cooperation with Tarim University is an important step toward developing joint research and academic initiatives that will advance the agricultural sector and strengthen ties between our countries,” stated Kanat Tireuov during his welcome speech.
During the meeting, the sides discussed collaborative efforts in agribusiness, agrotourism, livestock development, digital innovation, and the implementation of smart agricultural technologies. A key focus was the establishment of the Kazakhstan–China Innovation Center “One Belt – One Road” and the launch of international scientific labs.
As part of the visit, the rectors of both universities signed a roadmap aimed at implementing joint projects and enhancing strategic cooperation.
The visit concluded with an exchange of symbolic gifts and a group photo. Both parties expressed their commitment to deepening mutual academic engagement and fostering sustainable development in agriculture.
