From July 6 to 9, 2026, the 5th SCO Agricultural Universities Rectors Forum and the 11th Annual Conference of the Silk Road Agricultural Education and Research Innovation Alliance were held in Xi'an, People's Republic of China. The events were organized by Northwest A&F University.
The forum was held under the theme: "Technological Innovation for the Future of Agriculture, Win-Win Cooperation for Food Security." Discussions focused on the digital transformation of agriculture, modernization of agricultural education, development of joint scientific research, and strengthening regional food security.
The event brought together representatives from 86 universities and research institutions across 19 countries. The forum served as an authoritative international platform for promoting academic cooperation, implementing joint research projects, exchanging best practices, and training highly qualified specialists for the agricultural sector.
S.Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University was represented by a delegation led by Ms. Roza Dzhanysbekovna Abisheva, Member of the Management Board – Provost.
As part of the forum, an official meeting was held between Professor Wu Pu Te, President of Northwest A&F University, and the Kazakh delegation headed by Ms. Roza Dzhanysbekovna Abisheva. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further development of academic and scientific cooperation, expansion of partnership relations, and implementation of joint educational and research projects. At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides exchanged commemorative gifts as a symbol of mutual respect, friendship, and their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation.
One of the key outcomes of the university's participation in the forum was the signing of an Agreement on the Implementation of the Double-Degree Master's Program "Digital Land Resources Management" between Omsk State Agrarian University named after P.A. Stolypin (Russian Federation) and S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University (Republic of Kazakhstan). The agreement marks an important step toward expanding international academic cooperation, developing joint educational programs, and preparing highly qualified professionals.
As part of the forum program, the delegation of S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University visited the College of Food Science and Engineering of Northwest A&F University, where they became acquainted with its modern educational and research infrastructure, advanced laboratories, and key academic programs in the field of food science and technology.
The delegation also met with master's students of S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University who are studying at Northwest A&F University under the double-degree program. During the meeting, the participants discussed academic studies, research activities, living conditions, academic mobility, and the students' future academic and professional development.
At the conclusion of the forum, the organizers expressed confidence that the outcomes of the event would contribute to strengthening international cooperation, promoting innovation in agricultural science and education, and supporting the sustainable development of global agriculture.
