This April turned out to be truly eventful for football fans at the Saken Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University. No sooner had the excitement of the freshmen tournament died down than the Department of Physical Education delighted students once again by organizing an interfaculty football tournament.

The competition format remained unchanged: eight teams, each representing one of the university’s faculties, were divided into two groups of four. After several days of intense group stage matches, the four semifinalists were determined.

                             Group Stage: No Surprises

In Group A, "Economics" and "Energy" confidently secured their places at the top, earning 7 and 6 points respectively.
In Group B, "Tech" dominated with an impressive 15 unanswered goals over three matches, easily taking first place. The LMA and D team followed closely, collecting a fighting 5 points, setting the stage for an intriguing semifinal showdown.

Semifinals: Where One Mistake Costs the Final

The first semifinal between "Economics" and LMA and D turned into a real chess match on the football field. Both teams combined beautifully and attacked relentlessly, but one defensive error by Economics decided the outcome. LMA and D claimed a narrow 1–0 victory.

In the second semifinal, "Tech" confidently overpowered "Energy" with a 5–1 win, once again proving their status as the main title contenders.

                              Third-Place Match: A Goal-Fest

In the battle for bronze, "Economics", playing with their second squad, put on a true football spectacle. The final score of 7–5 in their favor secured them a well-deserved third place after a missed opportunity to reach the final.

Final: A Classic Battle of Willpower

As tradition would have it, the final once again brought face-to-face the eternal rivals LMA and D and "Tech". These encounters have long been the hallmark of university football — a true "El Clásico" on a student scale. The tension was even higher after their earlier group stage clash had ended in a goalless draw.

From the first minutes, "Tech" launched a methodical siege on the LMA and D goal and were awarded a penalty just five minutes into the game, which they confidently converted — 1–0.
   It took
LMA and D just two minutes to equalize — 1–1.

What followed resembled the script of a gripping thriller: twice more "Tech" took the lead, and both times LMA and D showed immense resilience to level the score.
The final whistle confirmed a thrilling 3–3 draw.

The logical culmination of this intense battle was a penalty shootout. LMA and D demonstrated remarkable composure, converting all four of their attempts, while "Tech" faltered under pressure, missing twice.
The result: 4–2 in the shootout and
LMA and D once again stood a top the podium!
