The general aim of the project: strengthening interregional integration and cooperation through the development of reliable joint tools to strengthen the international dimension of higher education systems and their compatibility between the four regions and the EHEA; support the modernization, accessibility and internationalization of 24 PC Universities from 8 countries belonging to 4 different regions.

Specific objectives:

  1. To share the knowledge of the credit system used in each partner country, to analyze the actual meaning “credit” in each partner institution and to develop common language for the definition of “Learning Outcome” and “Workload”.
  2. To share information on if and how the ECTS are applied and used in the partner countries.
  3. To enhance the human resource capacity in planning, delivering and evaluating degree courses through specific 1 week retraining of 111 staff in Europe.
  4. To implement concrete pilot examples in some degree courses developed in the framework of previous joint projects.
  5. To analyze the grade system in each country and in each Partner institutions and provide a concrete comparison in the selected degree courses.
  6. To collect data on credits recognition and grade transfer within the project in 4 regions.
  7. To provide a table with percentage of students’ performances in the last 3 years in at least 5 fields of study among the pilot courses.
  8. To establish a Quality Plan for the assessment of activities and results of the project and conduct periodical evaluations.
  9. To establish follow up actions in cooperation with EU universities by signing bilateral agreements in view of “Credit Mobility” program calls and inter-institutional cooperation.
  10. To establish and apply appropriate dissemination strategies and tools of results, actions and documents to staff of other regional universities, to local authorities and to Ministries of Education, throughout the whole project.

Kick-off meeting within the project PAWER

Kick-off meeting within the project 574099-EPP-1-2016-1-ITEPPKA2-CBHE-SP PAWER “Paving the way for interregional mobility and ensuring relevance, quality and equality of access”

The first coordination meeting (Kick-off meeting) was held on February 27-28, 2017 at the University of Natural Sciences in Wroclaw (Wroclaw, Poland) as part of the project “Paving the way for interregional mobility and ensuring compliance, quality and equality of access”. At this meeting, universities from Italy, Bulgaria, Poland and the UK, as well as partner universities from 8 countries belonging to 4 different regions (CA, Russia, the Caucasus and Asia) participated.  

On the first day, a representative of the University of Life Sciences in Wroclaw made a welcoming speech at the official opening. The main coordinator, Ms. Anna Tozzi, made a presentation on the goals, objectives and work packages of the PAWER project. National focal points from each partner country made a presentation on national mobility and institutional mobility and recognition. The session ended with a discussion of work packages.

 On the second day, the financial manager of the PAWER project, Marco Calabrese, spoke. He explained in detail all the financial management and reporting in order to clarify the financial rules of the Program.  The local project coordinator, Baitelenova A.A., took part in the first working meeting.  At the end of the meeting, all participants were awarded certificates of participation.

Second meeting of the project PAWER

Second meeting of the project 574099-EPP-1-2016-1-ITEPPKA2-CBHE-SP PAWER “Paving the way for interregional mobility and ensuring relevance, quality and equality of access”

On September 26-28, 2017, at the National University of Mongolia (Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia), the second meeting was held as part of the project 574099-EPP-1-2016-1-ITEPPKA2-CBHE-SP PAWER “Paving the way for interregional mobility and ensuring relevance, quality and equality of access” At this meeting, universities from Italy, Bulgaria, Poland and the UK as well as partner universities from 8 countries belonging to 4 different regions (CA, Russia, the Caucasus and Asia) participated.

From S. Seifullin KATU at the meeting was attended by Mukhanov N., a doctoral candidate of "Agriculture and Plant Growing" department. The meeting began with a welcoming speech by the Provost of the National University of Mongolia, Professor B. Ochirguyag. In his speech, he stressed the importance of the PAWER project for the university and the Mongolian strategy for internationalization and capacity building among new generations of Mongolian students.

After the first greeting, prof. Anna Tozzi, Vice-Rector for International Relations at the University of L'Aquila and the main coordinator of the project, briefly explained the main objectives of the project. Professor Tozzi paid attention to the meaning of “mobility”, “credit recognition” and “common language”.

A general overview of the project was presented by Dr. Massimiliano D'Noncoceno from the University of L'Aquila, who briefly showed the main activities of the project, the action plan for the first and second year of the project. Then Dr. D'Nonkotseno listed the missing administrative documents on partnership agreements, financial identification forms and a letter of approval for the replacement of the University of the Caucasus.

Regarding the “Organization of Study Tours in the EU” (Development), Dr. George Dafoulas from Middlesex University (England) gave a speech. He reported in general about the events held and the preparation of training weeks, which will be organized in Europe from the end of October 2017. During the discussion, it was officially decided that training weeks would be held at the University of Middlesex (United Kingdom), the University of Szeged (Hungary) and the University of Applied Sciences in Wroclaw (Poland), and not at the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy (Bulgaria), as provided for in the original form of the project.

For all work packages, the leaders of the work packages made presentations, highlighting the importance of implementing and adhering to the deadline. According to the agenda, the last day of the meeting was devoted to individual meetings between the University of L'Aquila and each partner. At this meeting, the focus was on several problems that partners have when filling out documents, in transferring money, in providing documentation. All individual meetings ended after a short Q & A session.

All participants of the meeting were awarded certificates.

Seminar-training at Middlesex University, UK

In November 2017, a training seminar was held at the University of Middlesex London, United Kingdom, within the framework of the European Union Erasmus + PAWER project “574099-EPP-1-2016-1-IT-EPPKA-CBHE-SP “Paving the way for interregional mobility and ensuring relevance quality and equality of access”.

The project coordinator is L'Aquila University, Italy. The training workshop was attended by 34 participants from partner universities, including Stybaev G.ZH., the dean of Agronomy Faculty and Kitaibekova S.O., coordinator of international programs of the International Cooperation and Multilingual Education Development Center of S. Seifullin KATU. At the seminar “Recognition and transfer of credit distribution and classification systems”, the following issues were addressed: the training system of EU countries (Great Britain, Poland, Hungary, Italy), Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan). The Caucasus (Azerbaijan, Georgia), Mongolia and Russia; cycle of the Bologna process, ECTS credits recalculation, university mobility policy on academic mobility.

The third meeting and monitoring in the framework of the project PAWER at KazNAU (Almaty)

The third meeting and monitoring in the framework of the project 574099-EPP-1-2016-1-ITEPPKA2-CBHE-SP PAWER “Paving the way for interregional mobility and ensuring relevance, quality and equality of access” at KazNAU (Almaty).

From May 16 to May 17, 2018, the Kazakh Agrarian National University (Almaty) hosted the third meeting as part of the project 574099-EPP-1-2016-1-ITEPPKA2-CBHE-SP PAWER “Paving the way for interregional mobility and ensuring relevance, quality and equality of access”. At this meeting, universities from Italy, Bulgaria, Poland and the UK, partner universities from 8 countries belonging to 4 different regions (CA, Russia, the Caucasus and Asia) as well as the coordinator of the National Office of Erasmus+ in Kazakhstan Tasbulatova Sh.

On behalf of S. Seifullin KATU Baitelenova A.A.,  local project coordinator, Ramazanova R.Kh., the Head of the “Soil Science” Department, Kulzhanova S. M., Lecturer of the Department of Soil Science and Kitaibekova S.O., the Coordinator of International Programs of International Cooperation and Multilingual Education Center were attended at the meeting.

The meeting began with the welcoming speech of the University Rector Professor T. Yespolov. In his speech, he spoke about the achievements of the university and stressed the importance of the PAWER project. Then the coordinator of the National Office of Erasmus + in Kazakhstan Tasbulatova Sh. U. delivered a welcoming speech.

Dr. George Dafoulas from the University of Middlesex (England) made a report concerning WP2 and WP3. He reported in general about the events and training sessions held at the end of 2017. During the discussion, he noted that retraining is necessary for the administrative and academic staff of the university.

Monostori from the University of Szeged (Hungary) made a report concerning WP4. In his presentation, he said that it is necessary to choose 5 areas for pilot training. During the discussion, it was decided to launch a pilot training from the 2018-2019.

Kafarsky from the University of Natural Sciences in Wroclaw (Poland) made a report concerning WP5. In his speech, he said that questionnaires were developed for quality assessment and monitoring of the project and project meetings. After each event, a survey is conducted and analysis and processing of questionnaires is done.

On the second day, PAWER financial manager Marco Calabrese spoke. He explained in detail all the financial management and reporting on the project.

According to the agenda, the last day of the meeting was devoted to individual meetings between the University of L'Aquila and each partner. All individual meetings ended after a short Q & A session.

It was monitoring on May 17, 2018  at the Kazakh Agrarian National University (Almaty) as part of the project 574099-EPP-1-2016-1-ITEPPKA2-CBHE-SP PAWER “Paving the way for interregional mobility and ensuring relevance, quality and equality of access”. Coordinator of the National Office of Erasmus+ in Kazakhstan, Tasbulatova S.U., all Kazakhstan project partners and representatives from the University of L'Aquila Massimiliano D'Noncoceno and Marco Calabrese took part in the monitoring.

The purpose of the monitoring was to assess the implementation stages of the PAWER project at the moment, as well as to obtain information on the results and achievements in accordance with the logical and structural matrix of the project, familiarization with the real situation in which the project is carried out, as well as the impact and sustainability of the project at the national level.

The monitoring covered issues of relevance, impact and sustainability of the project at the national level, effectiveness of implementation, current performance and strategy for disseminating project results. Each of the participants from universities presented their results to the coordinator and substantiated his role in the project.

According to the results of the monitoring, the coordinator of the National Office of the Program Erasmus+ Shaizada Umurzakovna expressed her comments and observations, which were taken into consideration by all the monitoring participants, and spoke about her expectations regarding the development of the project.
