Application of knowledge: The sphere of professional activity of  specialist  of Fisheries is the study of aquatic and fisheries management in the natural and artificial ponds and biotechnics and reproduction of valuable fish species and prey. The objects of professional activity of graduates are the Committee of forestry and wildlife at the Ministry of Agriculture, regional, district territorial inspection; fish farms; fish catching organizations and enterprises; research institutions; environmental organizations; fish processing companies.

Brief description of skills: The specialist can work at the  commercial fishing committee of aquatic organisms on relevant technologies, organize selection and breeding work, gain skills operating hatcheries all types of experiments to study the species composition of aquatic organisms, the biology, distribution and classification of aquatic organisms, determining the productivity of reservoirs, sources tract infection and fish health monitoring, protection and harvesting of fish and other aquatic biological resources in the inland waters of Kazakhstan.

Areas of professional activity include the production activities in the fishing plants, hatcheries, spawning and nursery farms of all forms of ownership, organization of fish works in natural water bodies, expert evaluation of reservoirs for the purpose of fishery use, implementation of acclimatization of fish and invertebrates, a set of works for the protection and control of rational use of living aquatic resources.

Brief content of the program: The program provides the conditions for a full, high-quality vocational education, creates the preconditions for self-exploration and research activities of students as part of an experiment in all periods of study, allows the students to get deep theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the study of issues of commercial fish farming, industrial fisheries, the artificial cultivation of fish, fish feeding and nutrition, construction and operation of hydraulic works, pond culture.

The ecosystems of natural and artificial water bodies, aquatic life; processes of artificial reproduction and cultivation of aquatic organisms, aquaculture equipment companies. Regional, district territorial inspection; fish farms; fish catching organizations and enterprises; environmental organizations; fish products processing enterprises.

Brief description of skills: Graduates can engage in commercial fishing of aquatic organisms on relevant technologies, organize commercial cultivation of fish and carry out breeding work, receive operating skills hatcheries all types of experiments to study the species composition of aquatic organisms, the biology, distribution and classification of aquatic organisms, determining the productivity of reservoirs, sources and routes of infection of fish, condition monitoring, protection and harvesting of fish and other aquatic biological resources in the inland waters of Kazakhstan. The master students  can get skills, conducting fisheries and environmental monitoring of human impact on aquatic resources; possession of field methods of ichthyological and hydrobiological studies in the reservoirs; Evaluation of total allowable catches and Industrial fishing of aquatic organisms; on artificial reproduction and cultivation of aquatic organisms; Operating process equipment in aquaculture; apply new technologies of cultivation of fish species; to find out infectious and parasitic diseases of aquatic organisms.

Brief content of the program: The program regulates the objectives, expected results, content, conditions and technologies of educational process, quality assessment of graduate training in this specialty and include: curriculum, working disciplines programs (modules) and other materials to ensure the quality of training of students as well as a program of educational and industrial practices, training calendar schedule and training materials to ensure the implementation of appropriate educational technology. The program provides the conditions for a full, high-quality vocational education, creates the preconditions for self-exploration and research activities undergraduates as part of an experiment in all its phases, to receive deep theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the marketing of fisheries products; the use of scientific, laboratory and field equipment, teaching aquaculture subjects, the study of issues of commercial fishing, commercial fish farming, industrial fish breeding, artificial cultivation of fish, fish feeding and nutrition, construction and operation of hydraulic works, pond culture.
