Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University (KATRU) named after a famous Kazakh national hero Saken Seifullin is located in Astana, the Capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Astana is a young dynamic and vibrant city situated at the crossroads of historical caravan routes of the Great Silk Road. The architectural innovations used in the city buildings and infrastructure catch visitors’ attention and imagination. Strategic Objectives

• Mutually beneficial strategic partnerships with universities, research institutions, public and private scientific bodies, and regional and international organizations in the fields of food, agriculture, agro-engineering, green technologies, energy, and many more.
• Establish new joint international research and innovation centers, laboratories, and business hubs at KATRU in collaboration with our global partners.
• Strengthen the existing and build new academic, research, and scientific-technological alliances within the CIS region using our shared history of academic, scientific, and technological collaborations. Find joint solutions for issues such as water stress, food production, food safety and food security, land management, transport, agri-trade, and sustainability in the CIS region. 
• Create research alliances/clusters of CIS universities and together work with global partners on joint projects.
• Collaboration with research and scientific institutions/organizations/universities in China and South and South East Asia (ASEAN and Shanghai Corporation Organization member countries).  Joint study programs/double degree programs in agriculture, agri-trade, soil conservation, energy, sustainable development, and technology exchanges.  Invite students and researchers from China, South Asia, South East and East Asia to study and conduct at KATRU.
• Establish academic exchange and joint education & research programs, double degree programs with European, North, and South American, Australian, and New Zealand universities and institutions in the areas of smart agriculture, modernization of agriculture and agriculture production, agriculture-informatics, green technologies, low carbon, renewable energy, and other areas.
• Work with institutions and organizations in the Middle East and African region such as the Alliance of African Universities, Islamic Food Security Organization, government bodies and think tanks for developing joint programs in the areas of food security, climate change, energy, and sustainable development. Invite students and researchers from the Middle East and African region to study and research at KATRU.
• Collaborate with international and regional organizations such as the World Food Organization, the United Nations Environmental Agency and other UN bodies, EU institutions, international funding bodies, charities, and NGOs in areas of common interest.
