Today, in the morning, many city residents could see a mass of young people in white T-shirts and caps filling and cleaning sidewalks, squares, monuments and areas along the streets of Astana. A mass cleanup was held to clean up the city, organized by Saken Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University together with the akimat of Astana and the youth policy department. The city cleanup day “Astana is an example of cleanliness and order” was organized in support of the republican environmental action of the head of state Kasym - Zhomart Tokayev “Taza Kazakhstan”.

Students cleared a large area on the right bank of the capital along Saken Seifullin Street and Zhenis Avenue.

“It is quite natural that university students named after the outstanding statesman Saken Seifullin, who turns 130 this year, contribute to the improvement of the street named after Seifullin. This is another step towards ensuring that the younger generation can absorb the active qualities of a great personality,” said Rector of KazATIU Kanat Tireuov.

Students, faculty and staff enthusiastically set to work in the warm April sun. As they say, work ennobles, and diligence in the fresh air in the company of friends, fellow students and colleagues, even more so, lifts the spirits, so radiant smiles shone on the faces of many today.

In total, 5,000 students, 800 faculty and staff of KATRU took part in the cleanup.

Students of the Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University sent a Saturday challenge to the Gumilyov Eurasian National University, offering to organize the same.
