Main Research Areas

  1. Development of domestic diagnostic test systems (ELISA, immunochromatographic assays) for detecting viral diseases of potato.
  2. Introduction of virus-free potato planting material into seed production in potato farms of Northern and Central Kazakhstan.
  3. Study of the distribution of PVY strains, sequencing and phylogenetic analysis of Kazakhstani virus isolates; identification of local recombinant strains deposited in the GenBank database.
  4. Assessment of potato variety resistance to PVY, PVX, late blight, and nematodes; identification of varieties containing extreme resistance genes to phytopathogens.
  5.
