The Faculty of Energy was formed in 1965 with the aim of training specialists in the field of energy for the Northern and Central regions of Kazakhstan.
During the period of work, the faculty has trained more than 8.5 thousand specialists, many of whom hold leading engineering and administrative positions in large energy organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, work as teachers and scientists. The faculty is one of the leading in Central and Northern Kazakhstan in its profile.

The faculty of the Energy Faculty includes 103 highly qualified specialists, including 12 doctors of science, 35 candidates of science, 12 PhD, 34 masters, 6 have the academic title of professor, 16 are associate professors and associate professors, 7 teachers are holders of the title "The best teacher of the university" , 2 teachers are graduates of the Bolashak program, 12 teachers conduct classes in English.
To ensure the educational process and conduct scientific research, the faculty has 21 laboratories that meet all the necessary requirements in terms of equipment, 7 computer classes.
The employment of graduates in 2020, according to the State Center for Higher Education, amounted to 95% in the bachelor's degree, 96% in the master's degree.

Within the framework of foreign academic mobility in the 2021-2022 academic year, 17 students from the «Irkutsk State Agrarian University named after A.A. Yezhevsky».
Every year, students take part in the Republican Student Subject Olympiad of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and win prizes.
In 2016, students in the specialty «Power Engineering» took the 1st team place.
In 2017, 2020, students in the specialty «Radio Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications» took the 1st team place.
As a result of this achievement, in 2017, 2018, 2021, our university became the base for holding the Republican Student Olympiad of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the specialties «Power Engineering», «RET».
In 2021, educational programs took the following places in the national ranking of the IAAR.

Doctorate. D098 - Thermal power engineering - 1st place; D099 - Energy and electrical engineering - 2nd place; D100 - Automation and control - 1st place; D135 - Energy supply for agriculture - 2nd place.
Since 2013 the Dean of the Faculty of Energy has been candidate of technical sciences, associate professor Issenov Sultanbek Sansyzbaevich.
The Faculty of Agriculture electrification was established in 1965 by its first dean Venedictov Yuri Zinovyevich. Together with stuff members he had carried out a lot of work on the organization of departments, recruited the teaching stuff and accumulated and developed the material and technical resources. Sooner the department of “Electricity Regulation” (the Head of the department is Klimenko P.S.), “Electric drive and electrical machines (the head of the department is associate professor Kissel O.B.), “General electric engineering and automation” (the head of the department is Horeva L.M.) were developed. A great organizational work was carried out by the following lecturers: Shpilko Y.E., Hvan V.N., Kolobov B.N., Kulinskiy E.A., and technical assistant Kirenkin L.M. In 1967 the Faculty was headed by the associate professor Kissel Oleg Borisovich. A large educational-methodical and scientific-research work was developed under his direct authority. The most talented graduates were slotted into job as teachers of the department, and as a result they put together a skeleton stuff of the faculty. They are: associate professors, c.t.s Anissimov Y.V. and Yakubovskiy D.D., c.t.s. Belay E.V., senior lecturer Kravchenko A.A., Kirichev D.G., professors, d.t.s. Tleuov A.H. and Vassiliyev V.G., associate professors, c.t.s. Babko A.N., Krasnikov V.I. and Leznaya O.N., senior lecturers Bekibayev Zh.T. and Letuta G.M., teaching assistant Tsarev E.I. A great emphasis put on scientific-research work of the faculty and educational background of the stuff. Under the authority of associate professor Kissel O.B. and professor Maizel S.Y. the following lecturers presented their dissertations: Shpilko Y.E., Belay E.V., Reimer A.A., Vasiliev V.G. and Anisimov Y.V. According to the results of scientific research more than 60 invention certificates were obtained. Lecturer Kissel O.B., Yakubovskiy D.D., Savteev N.I., Anissimov Y.V., Diehl A.L., Babko A.N., Vassiliev V.G. b Bratel B.I. were awarded with Lapel Pin “Inventor of the USSR”, and the d.t.n Vasilyev V.G. was awarded with silver medal of VDNKh of USSR, associate professor Krasnikov V.I. with bronze madal. Afteryears the faculty was headed by c.t.s. associate professor Yakubovskiy D.D., d.t.s., professor Vasilyev V.G., c.t.s., associate professor Babko A.N., d.t.s. Tleuov A.H.,c.t.s., associate prof. Leznaya O.H., c.t.s., associate prof. Shukraliev M. A. At the present time the dean of the Energy faculty is c.t.s., associate professor Isenov S.S.
