Department of Standardization, Metrology and Certification

The history of becoming an independent specialty has passed a certain way:

1997-Department of Technology of Production, processing and standardization of products.

2001 - Department of Standardization and Commodity Science.

2002 - Department of Standardization and Quality of agricultural Products.

Based on the recommendation of the Academic Council of the Kazakh Agrotechnical University named after S. Seifullin, the Department of Standardization, Metrology and Certification was established by the rector's order No. 134 dated 16.06.2004.  The department was headed by Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor B. T. Zhusin.

The purpose of the department is to implement an educational program in the specialty 5B073200 - "Standardization, certification and metrology", as well as conduct training sessions in special disciplines of technical, agronomic, energy faculties and faculties of veterinary medicine and animal husbandry technology and computer systems.

Since 2008, the Department of Standardization, Metrology and Certification has been graduating in the declared specialty.

Educational work of the department is carried out in accordance with the license of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan series AB No. 0062189 dated 02.08.2008 (with a validity period without restrictions).

Bachelor of Engineering and Technology training in the specialty 5B073200 "Standardization, Metrology and certification" has been carried out since 2009 (License AB No. 0062189, Appendix No. 0110659 dated 02.07.2008).

Since 2005 - 2007, the department has graduated 436 experts-auditors, engineers-experts in the specialties 1601 and 4517 - "Standardization and certification of agricultural products", since 2007-412 bachelor's degrees.

During the period of 2013 - 2015, the department prepared 509 bachelors.
In the 2014-2015 academic year, there was the last graduation of students enrolled in distance learning.

In 2010, the specialty 6M073200 - "Standardization and certification" passed the state certification for 5 years.

In 2014, the specialty 6M073200 - "Standardization and certification" passed specialized accreditation for 5 years. Certificate no. AB0081 dated 21.05.2014, issued before 03.05.2019.

In August 2015, a license was obtained for the right to train PhD doctors in the specialty 6D073200 - "Standardization and certification".

The Department of Transport Engineering and Technology was established in 2015 on the basis of the Department of Technical Service.

The Department of Technical Service was formed in 2000 by merging the departments of Tractors and Automobiles and the Department of Operation of Agricultural Machinery, which were formed during the formation of the faculty in 1961 and 1962.

The founder of the department is Ivan Pavlovich Vorozhtsov, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, who before moving to the Central Agricultural Institute headed the EMTP department of the Novosibirsk Agricultural Institute in Novosibirsk.

The Group of educational programmes "Transport equipment, technologies and standardization, certification, and metrology" is working to expand international cooperation with higher educational institutions of the near and far abroad, such as the Siberian State Automobile and Road University (SibADI), the Ostrava Technical University (Czech Republic), the Poznan Polytechnic University (Poland), the Sofia Chemical and Technological University and others. Metallurgical University of Science and Technology (Bulgaria), Tadeusz Kosciuszko Cracow Polytechnic Institute (Poland), Cracow University of Science and Technology AGH-UST (Poland), etc. It also has 4 cooperation agreements with organizations from Belarus, Poland, Slovakia, and Russia.

Within the framework of academic mobility of students of the specialty "Standardization and Certification", the department cooperates with the Belarusian National Technical University (the Republic of Belarus, Minsk), the Agricultural University named after V. I. Abramovich.Hugo Kollontai (Poland, Krakow), the Eurasian Academy (Slovakia, Bratislava), Ufa State Aviation University (Bashkiria, Ufa).

Employees took advanced training courses at the Slovak Agricultural University (Nitra, Slovakia) and the Amsterdam DNW Research Center (Netherlands).

To give lectures to undergraduates, it constantly attracts managers and specialists from production who have practical experience in the field of standardization, certification and quality management.

During the period from November 25 to December 07, 2018, the department was visited by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Dimitar Karaivanov from the Sofia University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy of Science and Technology (Bulgaria) and gave lectures, conducted practical classes for bachelors of educational programs: "Transport, transport Equipment and Technologies", "Logistics in Transport" and others. "Organization and road safety", held consultations for undergraduates and doctoral students of the educational programs "Transport, transport equipment and technologies".

In order to implement the academic mobility of bachelors and undergraduates within the framework of the Memorandum on mutual cooperation in the provision of educational services within the framework of academic mobility programs between NAO "Kazakh Agrotechnical University named after Saken Seifullin" and Buryat State Agricultural Academy named after V. R. Filippov (Russia), bachelors of the 3rd year of the educational program 6B065 - " Transport, transport equipment and technologies" using distance learning technologies in the fall trimester of the 2020-2021 academic year.

In the period from October to December 2023, the department was visited by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Production Systems of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics of the AGH Scientific and Technical University of Krakow (Poland) Michal Bembenek, who gave lectures, conducted seminars on educational programs: for bachelor's, master's and doctoral students.

The Department has been working closely with the Chelyabinsk State Agroengineering University for many years, where the vast majority of the department's teachers have completed postgraduate training. Applicants regularly go to conferences with reports on the subject of scientific research.

Cooperation was established with the company "CLAAS" in Harzewinkel, Germany, and an agreement was signed for joint work on the study of agricultural machinery by university students and students of the FPC. At the expense of the company, a class for studying foreign technology is equipped and equipped with educational and methodological literature. About 10 graduates of the faculty work at this company, and S. V. Butov, a 1989 graduate, is one of the leading managers of the CLAAS Academy.

Agreements on creative cooperation and book exchange were signed with St. Petersburg State Agrarian University and Dnepropetrovsk State Agrarian University.

Students of the Group of educational programmes "Transport equipment, technologies and standardization, certification, and metrology" actively participate in the social, cultural, scientific and sports life of the university. Educational work is aimed at developing students ' civic responsibility, patriotism, legal culture, spiritual and moral values and professional competence.

In the 2024-2025 academic year, students of the 3rd year, 06-065-22-12 and 06-065-22-14 groups are undergoing industrial internship at Astana MOTORS Subaru and the Traffic Police Department. This event evokes our students ' sense of compassion for society and aims to express support for people in difficult situations by providing kindness and assistance. On March 16, 2024, the Day of Culture and National Traditions was established. Each nation has its own beliefs, customs and customs that express its national knowledge, attitude, and individual national identity. Our people are very rich in traditions. In honor of this date, our faculty held an event dedicated to traditions and customs. This event was organized by the senior teacher, curator of the group 06-076-21-10 Zhibek Nurlanovna, who demonstrated the traditions. The event was organized at a high level and was attended by several guests from the Administrative Department headed by the Chairman of the Board-Rector, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan K. On March 19, 2025, an event of the national Games was held dedicated to the celebration of the Great Day – Nauryz. The purpose of the event was to promotenational values, promote traditional games of the Kazakh people and strengthen the unity of the department's staff.

During the festive event, participants took an active part in traditional Kazakh national games. In particular, such types of games as asyk atu, tug of war, horse riding, etc. were organized, where participants demonstrated their skills and dexterity.

At the end of the event, all participants were presented with commemorative certificates. The National Games gave a festive mood and helped strengthen friendship and cooperation between the participants.

In auditorium 4509, 05.05.25, a meeting was held with the head of the Production and Technical Department of JSC "Bus Park No. 1" A. N.Lapenko.

The meeting was attended by teachers of the department, 2-year undergraduates of the M20 degree-104-24-14, bachelor's degree gr. 06-065-22-14. In his speech, Lapenko touched upon the development of passenger transport in the capital Astana. A big problem with the operation of the passenger fleet in modern conditions on the basis of JSC "Bus Fleet No. 1" discussion was held in the form of a discussion. On September 29, 2025, at 15:00, a meeting with veteran teachers was held, organized by 1st-year students and curators Zh. Nurlanovna, A. B. Ayazbayeva, G. B. Tattimbetova and N. M. Dzhumadilova.

The event was attended by experienced teachers-Alma Nurdildinovna Rustembayeva and Shamshiyagul Bakytkalievna Khametova, who made a great contribution to the formation and development of the department.

During the meeting, the guests shared their work and life experience, told students about the importance and prospects of the profession. He gave specific examples of employment opportunities for graduates and gave useful recommendations.

The meeting was attended by the head of the State Enterprise "Transport equipment and Technologies, standardization, Metrology and Certification"АлдабергеноваS. S. Aldabergenova, head of the Academic Council for Quality of the Institute "Engineering and Food Technologies", as well as teachers of the department, undergraduates of the M20 degree-104-24-14, bachelor's degree gr. 06-095-22-21. 24-27. In her speech, she touched upon the development of information and automated control systems in railway transportation, as well as the introduction of advanced technologies that allow improving the efficiency of transportation process management, optimizing the use of resources and ensuring a high level of safety. The presentation was aimed at forming a systematic understanding of information and automated systems used in the activities of the largest carrier of the Republic of Kazakhstan. On December 2, 2025, 1st-year students visited the Kazakh National Music and Drama Theater named after A. A. Abramovich.Kalibek Kuanyshbayev and watched the opera performance "Kyz Zhibek". Students visited the theater, had a spiritual rest and received a lot of information that they need. The theater building is very beautiful, the atmosphere was amazing. In November 2025, a meaningful educational event was organized for students.

The event was attended by students of groups 06-076-25-24, 06-076-25-25, 06-076-25-26 and 06-076-24-10.

During the meeting, students visited the Museum under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where they got acquainted with the history of the formation of the Kazakh police. During the tour, they received valuable information about the development of the country's law enforcement agencies, the fate of modern heroes, and people who showed heroism during the service.

We also visited the filmstrip and got acquainted with unique exhibits from the museum's collections.

In addition, students got acquainted with the work of the Operational Management Center, saw firsthand how video surveillance cameras work in the city, their role in ensuring public safety.

This event contributed to the improvement of students ' legal literacy, the formation of a sense of patriotism and civic responsibility.

Students and curators of the 1st year held a meeting with the chief specialist of the Center for HIV Prevention of Astana Akimat Aigul Aibekovna.

The center's specialist explained to students the danger of infectious diseases:

- Ways to prevent HIV infection

- Transmission risk and transmission status

- Information about ART therapy

- Up-to-date statistics for the city of Astana

During the meeting, a slide report was presented and a booklet was distributed to improve students ' literacy.

Olympiads and competitions of students 'research papers are held for the purpose of identifying and developing students' professional competencies, stimulating educational and research activities, supporting talented young people and forming teams to participate in national competitions.
