Seifullin University hosted a meeting with a delegation of ICESCO as part of the International Forum “Kazakhstan Space Days Astana 2026.” The meeting focused on prospects for cooperation in space technologies, science, education, and digitalization.
Welcoming remarks on behalf of the University were delivered by Sarsenbay Abdrakhmanov, Member of the Management Board – Vice-Rector for Research. He noted that space technologies are becoming one of the key areas in the development of education, science, engineering, and international cooperation. He also emphasized that the University supports initiatives aimed at introducing advanced technologies, advancing scientific research, and expanding international partnerships.
On behalf of ICESCO, welcoming remarks were delivered by Dr Muhammad Sharif, Advisor, Director of Science & Environment, ICESCO. The meeting was also attended by José Vagner Vital, Major General; Halit Mirahmetoglu, Director Space Agenda; and Amna Awan, Chairman of COPAIR and CEO of Amna Group.
During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas of cooperation ranging from agricultural science and workforce training to digitalization, sustainable development, and the application of space technologies in agriculture. Particular attention was paid to opportunities for joint research projects, academic mobility programs, internships, and professional development for students and faculty members.
The meeting provided a platform for exchanging expertise and discussing further steps toward the development of long-term scientific and educational cooperation between Seifullin University and ICESCO.
