On March 10, 2026, the opening ceremony of the Language Week "World of Languages: Intelligence. Innovation. Integration," organized by the Department of Foreign Languages, was held in the conference hall of Saken Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University. The week will run from March 10 to 13.
The event was attended by university faculty, students, and representatives of international partner universities. Assem Yermekovna Abdrimova, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and International Affairs, delivered a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony, noting the important role of foreign language proficiency in developing international cooperation and strengthening mutual understanding between cultures.
Zhuldyzay Temirkanovna Kulzhanova, Director of the Institute of Humanities and Pedagogical Sciences and PhD in Philosophy, emphasized the importance of language learning for students' professional development and their adaptation to the global educational environment.
As part of international academic cooperation, Marta Mendel, Vice-Rector for Internationalization at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (Poland), Catherine Pellier, a French teacher from France, Sezgin Ayan, a professor at Kastamonu University (Turkey), Sandrine Bayli, a member of the ALEM Association (France), Taner Atmaca, a professor at the University of Düz (Turkey), and Olga Veremeichuk, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages at the Belarusian National Technical University, sent online congratulatory speeches, emphasizing the importance of languages in strengthening international ties.
Klaus John, Head of the German-Kazakhstan Dialogue on Agricultural Policy, and Katren Zh.S., a representative of diplomatic missions and Chairperson of the Board of the Bolashak Association, also extended their best wishes to the participants.
As a part of the opening of Language Week, the students presented artistic performances. Aruzhan Zhakenova and Maria Kolesnikova read poems in French and German. A. Saduakassova performed a song in English.
K.R.Yestaeva, m.p.s. a lecturer of the Foreign Languages Department presented a report on "New Possibilities of Linguistics in the Digital Age" and shared her thoughts on modern language teaching methods.
At the end of the event the Language Week program was presented, which will include seminars, cultural events, roundtables, and intellectual games, as well as various activities to stimulate the students' interest in language learning.
