On January 31, 2025, a methodological seminar on the topic "Features of the Education System in the USA" was held at the university level, organized by PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Accounting and Finance of the Faculty of Economics D.A. Tleuzhanova and Senior Lecturer, Master of Finance G.M. Mukasheva. The seminar was based on the results of a scientific internship under the international scholarship "Bolashak" within the framework of the "500 Scientists" program.
The purpose of the seminar is to share information and experience gained during a research internship at the University of Minnesota (USA) under the program “Leadership and Methodologies in US Higher Education: Management in Agriculture and Academic Research Program”.
The following issues were discussed during the seminar:
- Methodological and scientific seminars held at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
- Features of the educational system of the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS), functioning of scientific and experimental laboratories.
- Educational structure of the centers and institutes of the Carlson School of Management.Comparison of the Finance BSB and Accounting BSB programs at the University of Minnesota with the educational programs "Financial Analytics" and "Audit and Taxation" at Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University named after S. Seifullin, identifying similarities and differences.
- Organization of innovative teaching methods at the University of Minnesota, such as project-based learning (PBL), flipped classroom, gamification and inquiry-based learning.
The seminar ended with a presentation of the achievements of the fellows. The event was attended by university teachers who asked questions and also took part in an interactive game organized at the end of the seminar.
