The department «Technology and Processing of Livestock Production» was organized as a department of the private animal husbandry in 1966.
Employees of the department carry out training of specialists at three levels (5B080200 - bachelor) in the specialty "Technology of livestock production" and in the field of education 6B08 "Agriculture and biological resources" in three areas of preparation 6B082-, 7M082-, and 8D082- "Livestock".
The teaching staff of the department is 17 people, including 3 doctors, 8 candidates of sciences and 3 doctors of PhD and 3 masters of agricultural sciences.
The degree of teachers of the department is 82,3%, the teaching experience from 1 year to 40 years or more.
The holders of the state grant "The best teacher of the university" were awarded: Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Omarkkozhauly N. (2007), Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Shauenov S.K. (2008), candidate of agricultural sciences, associate professor Kazhgaliev N.Zh. (2012). Professors Alimzhanova L.V. (2012) and Kazikhanov R.K. (2016) awarded the Order "Urmet", Shauenov S.K. (2015) was awarded the badge "For Merits in the Development of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan", and Associate Professor A. Bekkozhin (2017) was awarded the Ybyray Altynsarin medal.
The holders of state scientific scholarships were PhD Dr. Ibraev D.K. (2016) and Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Shauenov S.K. (2017).
In total, the faculty of the department conducts 18 disciplines for Educational program 6В082 - "Animal breeding", 9 for Educational program 7M082 - "Animal breeding", 5 disciplines for Educational program 8D082 - "Animal breeding" and 7 disciplines for other specialties. All educational programs of three levels of training in the specialty "Animal Husbandry" have been created in close cooperation with employers and foreign universities, such as the University of California, Davis (USA) and AgroParisTech (France).
The department includes a research platform "Production of animal products", which consists of 2 modern laboratories "Laboratory for zootechnical analysis of feed and milk" and the laboratory "Poultry". The department includes the research platform " Animal husbandry products " was created on the basis of the order of the Chairman of the Board of JSC " S. Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical University " No. 864 dated December 29, 2017 by transforming and combining research programs of initiative, contractual and budget grants of various ministries and departments, carried out on the basis of JSC "S. Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical University".
The department fruitfully collaborates with the University of Agriculture in Krakow (Poland, Krakow), Slovak Agricultural University (Nitra), Estonian University of Natural Sciences, Paris Institute of Life and Environmental Sciences AgroParisTech, (Paris, France), Ural State Agricultural University (Yekaterinburg, Russia) and other organizations.
The practice bases for students in the disciplines of the department are 74 enterprises and organizations.The department fruitfully cooperates with the Agricultural University named after Hugo Kollontaya (Poland, Krakow), Slovak Agricultural University (Nitra, Slovakia), Estonian University "Lifesiences" (Tallinn, Estonia) and other organizations.
According to the State Center for the Payment of Pensions, the employment of bachelor's graduates in 2021 was 75.5%, master's graduates - 83.3% 6 100% of doctoral graduates. Our graduates work in various organizations, for example, in state institutions (the head of the State Institution "Department of Agriculture of the Akkol District" Kenzhina G.B.), in the Republican Chambers (director of the Republican Chamber of the breed hereford Matakbaev D.), in various LLPs, KH (head of the LLP "Poultry farm named after K. The scientific direction of the department is work to increase the genetic potential of productivity, the development of technology for keeping, feeding, growing and reproduction in dairy cattle breeding based on the use of adapted resource-energy-saving and digital technologies for various natural and climatic zones of Kazakhstan., The development and creation of scientifically grounded Smart farms with the use of various solutions for each area of implementation of digitalization for the actual production tasks of the agro-industrial complex entities.

Students, undergraduates, doctoral students and teachers annually participate in regional, Kazakhstani and foreign scientific meetings, conferences dedicated to the development of effective methods of breeding and reproduction of animals, while improving existing and creating new breeds, types and lines. The scientific and methodological developments of the department have been repeatedly demonstrated at domestic exhibitions of various levels.
In 2021, more than 40 articles were published, of which 20 were published in scientific journals included in the list of publications recommended by the Committee for Control in the Sphere of Education and Science Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 5 articles in scientific journals indexed in the Russian citation database Russian Science Citation Index, 3 publications in rating international journals with an impact factor, in collections of materials republican, 23 international scientific and practical conferences.
Students of the department annually participate in republican subject Olympiads. On May 12-15, 2020, 4th year students Arailym Saken and Zhanel Mukusheva took the 1st and 2nd places at the distance republican Olympiad in the subject "Animal husbandry" at the A. Baitursynov Kostanay State University.
On May 28-29, 2020, at the XII Republican Student Subject Online Olympiad at the Kazakh National Agrarian University in Almaty, a 4th year student Dinara Nurgali took ІІ place.
In the 2021 academic year, she participated in the subject Olympiad in the direction of "Livestock", which was held online at the Kazakh National Agrarian University in Almaty, Mamilaeva Akbike was awarded a diploma of the third degree and all students who participated in the Olympiad - Bakytkyzy Akerke, Rakhimzhanov Yernur received letters of thanks.
Over the past 5 years, the teaching staff of the department has published more than ten textbooks, educational and methodological publications and two monographs.
The staff of the department was formed by employees of various schools of the former Soviet Union. Thus, R.I.Kalachnyuk and R.K.Kalachnyuk arrived from the Lvov Veterinary Institute, the candidate of Agricultural Sciences A.S. Bitieva came from the Dagestan Research Institute, A.N.Kulko A.N is from the Trinity Institute, I.M.Panasyuk is from the Belotserkovsky Agricultural Institute.
The first head of the department is associate professor E.S.Shelepov (1966-1972), co-author of the Stavropol sheep breeding. During these years, the main focus of the scientific study of the team was the production of crossbred wool and young mutton.
In 1972-1977 the department was headed by the Candidate of Agricultural Sciences R.K.Kazikhanov. During this period the scientific goal was the creation of crossbred sheep, the creation of a type of meat-sucking sheep (fat-tailed), where the basic farm wasP.Barshino. During these years the department was replenished with new employees: M.A.Abdrakhmanov -from the Krasnodar Agricultural Academy, Ph.D., graduates of K.Timiryazev Moscow Agricultural Academy- Alimzhanov B.O. and Alimzhanova L.V., graduates of the faculty N.G.Gerasimchik and A.S.Seisenov came from enterprises.
Since 1978 to 1986 the department was headed by the associated professor B.O.Alimzhanov. During this period there were changes in the scientific direction of research of employees, in particular, all subsequent work of the team was related to dairy cattle breeding, opportunities to increase its productivity. A postgraduate course was opened. The teaching staff of the department worked on the creation of a zonal type of black-and-white dairy cattle using Holstein bulls.
Since 1986 to 2003, the department was headed by Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Alimzhanova L.V., a person with good theoretical and practical training, an excellent lecturer and supervisor. The main topic of the department was the development of a scientifically based technology for the production of cattle products in the conditions of theNorthern Kazakhstan.
In 2001 in connection with the opening of a new specialty 1601 - "Standardization, metrology and certification", the name of the department was changed to Technology and standardization of animal products (Protocol No. 3 from 25.01.2001).
Since 1996, the Dissertation Council for the defense of candidate's theses was opened at the university, the Сouncil included the lecturers of the department, The following applicants defended their dissertations at this Council: L.D.ZhangurazovZh.K.Kurzhykaev., graduate students of the department A.V.Strelets., K.H.Shaikenova., S.K.Bostanova.,D.K.Aitmukhanbetov and M.B.Saginbayeva., A.K.Saginbayev., K.E.Aitmukhanbetova.,Yu.N. Sheiko andS.A.Mamunova.
Since 2005 more than 100 undergraduates have studied and defended themselves at the department.
Since 2003 to 2008 the department was headed by the candidate of Agricultural Sciences, associate professor A.Zh.Bekkozhin. During this period the staff of the department was replenished with graduates of the department, candidates of sciences S.K.Bostanova., M.B.Saginbaeva., S.A.Mamunova., Yu.N.Sheiko. In addition, 2 professors, doctors of agricultural sciences S.K.Shauenov- a scientist in the field of sheep breeding and N.Omarkozhauly - a scientist in the field of feeding agricultural animals were employed.
Since 2008 to 2011 the department was headed by the Professor S.K. Shauenov and since 2011 to 2012 – A.Zh. Bekkozhin, since 2012 to 2019 the associated Professor N.Zh. Kazhgaliev.
In connection with the transfer of specialty 1601 - "Standardization, metrology and certification" to the technical faculty and specialty 050701 - "Biotechnology" to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the name of the department was changed into the "Technology of production and processing of animal products" (Order No. 334 of 17.10.05).
Based on the results of many years of scientific research, a new type of black-and-white cattle "Prishimsky" was created, a new type took part in the competition for the A.I. Baraev State Prize for 2008. According to the evaluation results, the authors (B.O.Alimzhanov., L.V.Alimzhanova., A.Zh.Bekkozhin., S.K.Bostanova) were awarded with this prize of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2008 the diploma "Shapagat" was received.
Since September 2019 the department has been headed by Ph.D., Associated Professor S.K. Bostanova.

The staff of the departments took advanced training courses at universities in the USA, Turkey, China and France.
Based on the Joint Work Plan of agricultural universities and research centers of the countries of the Silk Road region for 2018 – 2020 to solve common technological problems in the agro-industrial complex, the assistant of the Department, Master of Agricultural Sciences NurgulsimKaster has been studying at the doctoral program of the Northwestern University of Agriculture and Forestry of the People's Republic of China since 2017.

Students of the department annually participate in the republican subject olympiads. In 2017-2018 academic year Seilova Aisha took part in the IX scientific conference of Kazakh National Agrarian University and received the 3rd degree diploma among 23 participants.
At the Xth Republican Student Olympiad of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan in KazNAU (Almaty), the student of the department Omar Gulden Talgatkyzy showed a high result, Rabbani Aiguzel and Konarbay Ayazhan were awarded with letters of thanks.
On March 2-3, 2017, M. Kozybayev North Kazakhstan State University in Petropavlovsk organized an international subject Olympiad among students of educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation in agricultural specialtiesdedicated to the 80th anniversary of the North Kazakhstan State University. Students of the 4th year of specialty 5B080200- "Technology of production of livestock products": Norina Julia, Khasanova Zhamila, Seilov Aisha took the 2nd place; in 2018the 4th year students Omar Gulden, Konarbay Ayazhan and Rabbani Aiguzel took the first place. Students from different cities (Astana, Kokshetau, Semey, Kyzylorda, Tyumen (Russia), Kurgan (Russia)) took part in the international subject Olympiad.
On April 18-19, 2019, the team of our department represented by the students T. Pilnik, A.Eginbay, and A.Aymyrzai took part in the XI Republican Subject Olympiad in the specialty 5B080200 - "Technology of production of livestock products." The Olympics was consisted of 2 rounds: computer testing and solving applied and situational problems. According to the individual standings, Pilnik Tatyana was awarded with a diploma of the II degree. On behalf of the rector of Kazakh National Agrarian University a letter of thanks for the active participation of teams in the XI Republican Subject Olympiad.was addressed to our university
On May 12-15, 2020, the 4th year students Araylym Saken and Zhanel Mukusheva took the first and second places at the distance republican Olympiad on the subject "Livestock production" at A. Baitursynov Kostanay State University.
On May 28-29, 2020 at the XII Republican Student Subject Online Olympiad at Kazakh National Agrarian University in Almaty, the 4th year student Dinara Nurgali took the II place.
In the 2021 academic year, the team participated in the subject Olympiad in the direction "Animal husbandry," which was held in an online format atKazakh National Agrarian University in Almaty. Mamilaeva Akbike was awarded with a diploma of III degrees and all students who participated in the Olympics - Bakytkyza Akerke, Rakhimzhanov Ernur received letters of thanks.
The sphere of brining up of the students is a priority direction of the state policy in education. The issues of the youth developmentat the university cannot be realized without an effective system of educational work in student groups.
The curators of the groups are the teaching staff of the department "Technology of production and processing of animal products".
Curators are key figures in carrying out not only educational, but also educational work with student groups. They are the organizers of the students' activities in the group and the coordinators of educational activities.
The most important areas of educational activity of the curators are: adaptation of first-year students to university conditions, assistance to students in solving their social problems and leisure, assistance in forming a climate of friendship, goodwill, cohesion and mutual support in the student group, awareness of belonging and involvement in a single university community of teachers and staff united by a single organizational culture, one system of views and values.
The educational work of the department is carried out in accordance with the plans of the curators and the working plan of the department. Curatorial hours in groups are held on various topics, timed to significant dates: "Knowledge Day", "Constitution Day", "Independence Day", "Victory Day", "New Year", "Nauryz" and others.
The curators invite representatives of medicine, legal authorities, psychologists, retired graduates of our university, specialists from of enterprises to conduct thematic conversations in groups.
Curators organize offline and online visits of students to theaters, cinemas, museums, newspapers, festive evenings, participation in cultural events of the university and the city on the ZOOM platform.
