The round table on the topic “Development of Agrarian Science”, dedicated to Science Day was held today at the Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University held. Vice Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erbol Taszhurekov read out the congratulations of the Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov on the Day of Science Workers: “Mind and science constitute the beginning of all achievements of mankind. From simple things to complex ideas, everything is a product of science. I believe that through painstaking scientific work we will make a great contribution to the socio-economic development of our country, to the further development of the agro-industrial complex”.

The round table was attended by the Chairman of the Board of the National Agrarian Research and Education Center Baurzhan Kasenov, representatives of the National Agrarian Research and Education Center, employees of its subsidiaries (via zoom).

Vice-Minister Erbol Taszhurekov noted: “We face a big task - to increase labor productivity in agriculture by 2.5 times and the export of processed agricultural products by 2 times. The head of state set the task of increasing the volume of processing of products in the agricultural sector to 70 percent over the next three years.

In turn, our scientists in the agricultural sector are conducting successful work and making a significant contribution to the development of the country’s agro-industrial complex with their scientific discoveries and achievements. One of them is the work of Vladimir Chudinov, a scientist-breeder at the Karabakh experimental farm. As a result of the research work of Vladimir Anatolyevich, a new wheat variety “AINA” was created, adapted to the harsh climatic conditions of Northern and Central Kazakhstan. Today this wheat variety is grown by 1 million farmers in 8 regions of the country.”

Member of the Board - Rector of KATRU, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Tireuov, opening the round table, said that KATRU, having the status of a research university, makes a significant contribution to the development of education, science and the industrial sector of the country: “We are proud of our scientists who make a significant contribution to development of science. Thanks to the full support of the head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, positive changes in the field of science are taking place in the country today. The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov contributes to the development of the country's agriculture, fulfilling the instructions of the President. For example, the digitalization of agriculture, livestock farming, phytosanitary safety, and biological safety is being intensively carried out. With the direct participation of the Ministry of Agriculture, a number of positive changes are taking place in the area of regulating prices for socially important food products, science and innovation, veterinary safety, and land resources. Each of the people present at this event, thanks to their feasible work and professionalism, today makes a significant contribution to the development of our country.”

Director of the Department of Science and Innovation, PhD, Associate Professor Zhanna Bulkhairova read a report on the impact of climate change on the production of leguminous crops. Scientist of the Department of Hunting and Fisheries, Director of the Kazakh-Czech International Scientific Center for Aquaculture Zhaksygali Kuanchaleev made a report on the topic “Artificial reproduction of pike perch on the basis of the Research Center “Fisheries” as the basis of food security.” Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary and Livestock Technology Candidate of Veterinary Sciences, acting Professor Orken Akibekov spoke about the development of a rapid test for trichinosis to ensure the safety of meat and meat products of wild and domestic animals. Candidate of Technical Sciences, Acting Professor of the Department of “Technology of Food and Processing Production” Gulmira Zhakupova spoke on the topic “Development of the food market of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the system of ensuring waste-free milk processing technology.”

Then the round table participants answered questions. After the discussion, the awards ceremony took place. The awards were presented by the Vice Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erbol Taszhurekov.
