The Office of Commercialization of the S. Seifullin Kazakh agro technical research university is formed by the order of the rector on the basis of the solution of Academic Council meeting of S. Seifullin KATU( Protocol No. 17 25.04.2013) according to the results of a contest on selection of scientific research institute and HEI on the April 24, 2013 spent by "The National Technological Development Agency" JSC within implementation of the Program for development of innovations and assistance in the technological modernization approved by the Resolution of the government of RK (No. 1308, 30 November, 2010)
Purposes of the Office of Commercialization
- commercialization of completed scientific development and introduction of results of researches in production;
- commercialization of the consulting services of university staff rendered to the enterprises and farms various forms of ownership of agro-industrial complex of Kazakhstan;
- providing university with additional off-budget financing by means of commercialization of its development and services.
Tasks of the Office of Commercialization
- carrying out examination of research results and development and development identification, perspective for commercialization;
- an assessment of the available intellectual property at university;
- carrying out market researches;
- "packing" of scientific development in a form of the perspective innovative project;
- development of the investment memorandum and search of investors;
- development of policy on distribution and legal fixing of the rights for the future intellectual property between all parties participating in process;

- rendering services in a choice of the direction of further modification and maintenance of objects of intellectual property, etc.;

- adjustment of contacts with subjects of private business for commercialization of results of scientific researches and development;

On October 28, 2014, the JSC "Kazakh Agrotechnical University named after S.Seifullin" met with the delegation of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe to develop a strategy for international cooperation in science, technology and international technology transfer. This strategy will set clear targets for international scientific and technical cooperation and trade as one of the most important factors in the development of technology, as well as attracting foreign direct investment, providing access to the latest technologies and the development of integration processes.

Sholpan Syzdykova noted that today it is very important to cultivate interest in the national product "Kymyz" and revive forgotten recipes, to establish production on an industrial scale, to promote the preservation and development of the national and cultural heritage of our people for the modern Kazakh family.
At the Third International Forum "Kymyz-2015" the issues of horse breeding development, industrial production of kymyz according to Kazakh national recipes, actual problems of production, processing, storage, transportation, sale and consumption of other horse breeding products were considered. The issues of the need to spread the culture of consumption of the "Kymyz" product, the scientific support of the production of Kazakh national food products, the problem of standardization of the product and the need to support initiatives at the state level were also considered.

Particular interest in the work of the conference was shown by students and undergraduates of technical, agronomical faculties and the Faculty of Veterinary and Livestock Technology due to the fact that today KATU is one of the 10 basic universities of the country for training specialists for the State Program for Industrial and Innovative Development for 2015-2019 , where one of the directions of the introduction of the profile master's program is the training of specialists in the specialty "Food Production".

On October 9, 2015, a seminar on the topic "Sources of financing and commercialization tools: practical aspects" was held in KazATU named after S.Seifullin, organized by the commercialization office in cooperation with JSC "National Agency for Technological Development" (hereinafter referred to as JSC " NATD ") and LLP "Center for the transfer and commercialization of agricultural technology."

August 26, 2015 the delegation of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) visited S.Seifullin KazATU , at the request of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, preparing the review of the Intellectual Property System of Kazakhstan in the framework of the project "Enhancing competitiveness by optimizing the innovation policy in Kazakhstan ".
The purpose of the review is to develop a set of recommendations aimed at ensuring the country's economic growth by influencing the effectiveness of innovation through improving the national intellectual property system of Kazakhstan. The study will be based on a deep analysis of the national intellectual property system and will contain recommendations based on "best practices" in this field.

On February 24 - 25, 2018, the first Open Data Hackathon was held, organized by JSC ‘Astana Innovations” and Business Incubator MOST in the framework of the Astana Innovation Challenge start-marathon 2018, initiated by Astana akim Aset Isekeshev.
Among the 35 teams, students of the 2nd year of the specialty "Information Systems" of JSC " S.Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University " Serikbayev Nyrbol, Kunkhozhayev Nurkhozha, Rice Erbol received a special Hakaton prize in the amount of 500 000 tenge from the partners of HERE Technologies and Astana LRT.

On March 2, 2016 the University in cooperation with RSE "National Institute of intellectual property" of the Ministry of Justice of Kazakhstan (hereinafter – the RSE "NIIP") held the meeting of students and young scientists of the University with the winners and prize-winners of contests of previous years for achievements in the field of invention "Shapagat". The nominated scientists presented their contest projects and developments.
The event was opened by the Head of the office of commercialization –A. Nurmukhanbetova, who spoke about the development of the patents activities in the University. The Deputy Director of RSE "NIIP" K.O. Bataeva also made a welcome speech and gave information on the annual contest "Shapagat".

Annual National Competitions Enactus Kazakhstan are one of the main, important and dynamic events in the Enactus program, where students demonstrate their work and the ways in which they have influenced society. The teams present their projects for business evaluation - leaders who act as jury members. The main criterion for evaluating projects is improving the quality and living standards of the population through entrepreneurship. The winner of the National Competitions will have the opportunity to present their projects at the World Cup Enactus.
The representatives of 48 teams from all regions of the country demonstrated their projects in the sphere of development of entrepreneurship, social development, preservation of the environment at the last contest. Our team took part for the first time in 2015 and our University team has been the semifinals for two consecutive years meeting with the strongest teams of Kazakhstan universities . The team of the University presented 3 startup projects for young entrepreneurs, as well as innovators with innovative business ideas.

On April 20, 2016, students of JSC "S.Seifullin KAТU " became semi-finalists of the 4th round of the championship according to business cases "Kemel Kusipker", whose goal is to popularize entrepreneurship as an effective life strategy for a youth asset.
The Championship of business cases "Kemel Kusipker" is a series of business games and a quiz on entrepreneurship, in which participants offer possible ways to solve a particular business case solution, using their knowledge, analytical and creative abilities. The organizers of the project are the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan "Atameken", Almaty Management University (AlmaU) and the Public Foundation "SANA Eurasia".
The participation in the business game allows you to develop team work skills and project presentations, identifies active and gifted young people who are leading or planning to do business, contributes to the formation of a positive image of youth entrepreneurship as an important factor in the country's economic and social progress.
