On April 4, 2018, a delegation from the United States headed by the manager of the project programs from the American Council, Mr. Adrian Erlinger, visited the S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University (herinafter - KATU) within the framework of the project on development of partner relations between universities of the USA and Kazakhstan, organized by the US Embassy on April 2-3, 2018 in Astana.

The delegation included representatives from the California State University, the Pennsylvania State University, the Washington State University, the Lehigh University, as well as the representatives of the American Council in Washington and the US Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The purpose of the visit was to familiarize with the international activities of the university, including academic and scientific issues, as well as to discuss issues of internationalization and expand international cooperation with US universities.

The meeting was held with the Chairman of the Board of KATU Mr. A.K. Kurishbaev in the center of GIS technologies of the technical faculty of KATU.

In his welcoming speech, the Chairman of the Board A.K. Kurishbaev thanked the guests for their interest in our university and noted that today Kazakhstan and the United States are dynamically developing cooperation in all spheres of economics and industry, including education and science in agriculture.

Akhylbek Kazhigulovich briefly described the structure of the university, familiarized with the international activities of the university, in particular, in partnership with the leading universities of the USA, namely, with the UC Davis, the University of Arkansas, the Missouri State University, and others.

In turn, Mr. Adrian Erlinger thanked for the warm welcome, and noted that KATU was among the five universities in Kazakhstan, which will work in the project on further development of partnership between the universities of the United States and Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, the delegation visited several technological platforms, in particular, the Kazakhstan-German Precision Farming Center, the metal processing and welding workshop, the experimental and production workshop for meat and dairy products, the experimental and production workshop for processing of oilseeds, the mini bakery, where the delegation met master and bachelor students and got acquainted with their work in laboratories and centers.

At the end of the meeting, the Parties exchanged memorable gifts, and agreed that the meeting will serve as a new vector for the long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation.
