On April 17, 2018, a delegation from Turkey headed by Mr. Abdulmelik Otegen, Deputy General Secretary (Head of the Staff) of the Mayor's Office of the City of Conya, visited the Kazakh Agrotechnical University. S. Seifullin (further - KATU) within the framework of the project on agricultural crops of partnership relations between Turkey and Kazakhstan.

        The purpose of the visit was to familiarize with the international activities of the university, including academic and scientific issues, as well as discussion of issues on agriculture, in particular in the areas of fruit and vegetable growing, forestry, green technologies, and energy and veterinary.

        The pro-rector for scientific and innovative activities Tokbekenov I.T in his welcoming speech, thanked the guests for their interest in our university and noted that cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkey in all spheres of industry, including education and science in agriculture, is developing dynamically. To date, KATU closely cooperates with leading universities in Turkey, namely, with the universities of Ege, Kastamonu, Istanbul in the framework of educational programs like Mevlana, Erasmus + and summer schools in Turkey.

        In turn, Mr. Abdulmelik Otegen thanked for the warm welcome and noted that KATU was among the leading universities in Kazakhstan that will work in the project on further development of partnership relations between universities of Turkey and Kazakhstan and invited representatives of our university to the international congress "International green capitals ", which will be held on May 8-12, 2018 in Konya, Turkey.

        At the end of the meeting, the Parties agreed to jointly test and select varieties of leguminous crops and exchange souvenirs.
