Monitoring of the EU Erasmus + UnWaste project

On April 29, 2021, a preliminary monitoring of the EU Erasmus + “Capacity Building in Higher Education Project”No. 618715-EPP-1-2020-1-DE-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP “Advancing Circular Economy in Partner Countries by Development and Implementation of Master Programme “Waste Management” – UnWastetook place.

The monitoring took place on the basis of Sh.Ualikhanov Kokshetau University. Kazakhstan project partners are S. Seifullin KATU and A. Baitursynov KRU, Sh.Ualikhanov Kokshetau University, they also took part in online monitoring.

The monitoring was conducted by Sh.U. Tasbulatova, Director of the National Office of the Erasmus + Program in Kazakhstan, on behalf of the EACEA (Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency). Within the framework of the general supporting projectspolicy, the EACEA of the European Commission attaches particular importance to their systematic monitoring in order to get acquainted with the progress of their implementation and obtain more detailed information about the universities participating in the projects and other representatives of stakeholders. The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the activities carried out and the results of the project, to discuss the existing problems and difficulties of the operational and financial plan, to determine the ways of their solution.

Yunusova G.B., Country Coordinator, Head of the Ecology and GeographyDepartment, A. Baitursynov KRUpresented the report on the results of the project. Local coordinators G.K. Satybaldieva, Head of the EcologyDepartment,S. Seifullin KATU, Kurmanbaeva A.S., Associate Professor of the Geography, Ecology and TourismDepartment, Sh.Ualikhanov KUtook an active part in the discussion. The monitoring was very productive. All participants of the meeting answered the questions of Shaizada Umurzakovna, revealing their role in the project and reported on the results of the work performed.

During the monitoring, weak and strong sides of the project results were identified, comments were made and recommendations were discussed to improve the work of each participant and teams as a whole in order to achieve the set goals of the project and its sustainability in the future.
