The objectives of the educational program:

1. Formation of the main professional competencies of future specialists - designers;
2. Creation of prerequisites for independent search and research activities of students in the framework of the experiment at all its stages;
3. Ability to work with scientific and technical information, use domestic and foreign experience in professional activities, systematize and summarize the information received;
4. The development of students' personal qualities, the formation of general cultural and professional (design, research, organizational and managerial, critical expert, pedagogical) competencies, the development of skills for their implementation in practical activities in accordance with the requirements of republican legislation.

The ultimate goal of the program is the direction of preparation for the “Design” educational program, which implies a clear orientation towards the future, which is manifested in the possibility of building your education, taking into account success in personal and professional activities that meet the requirements of employers.

The educational program "Design" allows you to get deep theoretical and practical skills in the field of designing fragments of the architectural environment, expositions, interiors, visual communications.

Relevance

The relevance of the educational program is due to the fact that Design is a field of human activity, material and spiritual culture, synthesizing the results and means of science and technology, art, focused on creating a holistic, subject-spatial human environment, is in demand everywhere in all areas of human life.

Features, competitive advantages. The “Design” educational program in the specialty “6B031-Design” was developed in accordance with the National Qualifications Framework, agreed with the Dublin Descriptors and the European Qualifications and Guidelines Framework for universities on the design of educational programs (MES RK, 2017, 36 p.).

The modular educational program is designed on the basis of a modular system for studying disciplines and consists of 12 modules forming general cultural and professional competencies (МР « Designing modular educational programs », S. Seifulin KATU, 2013, 47 p.).

The educational program includes 268 credits of theoretical training, training and production practices in the amount of 20 credits, 12 credits - writing and defense of the thesis.

The advantage of the “Design” educational program is the ability to train broad-profile designers to work in many areas of design activity at the current stage of society development. 

Field of professional activity of the graduate:

а)  Specialists who have received professional basic education in the modular educational program Design, specialty 6B031-Design (undergraduate), are trained to carry out creative and artistic work in the field of designing fragments of architectural design, expositions, interiors, visual communications. In accordance with the profile, specializations are prepared for work in creative design and design teams of enterprises and organizations.

b) objects of professional activity: Objects of professional activity of graduates are: objects of architectural design: urban, rural, park ensembles, small architectural forms, elements of improvement and landscaping, visual communications, exposition spaces, equipment and furniture in the urban environment. Interior spaces of residential and public buildings, underground public facilities, decoration, equipment and furniture in the interior, exhibition and trade expositions, monumental and decorative items and decorative and applied art in the exterior and interior, visual communications in the interior. 

Types of professional activity:

The subjects of professional activity of graduates in the specialty “Design” are: design of the architectural environment; Interior Design; landscape design; architectural design and visual culture.

Graduates in the specialty "Design" can work in the previously listed areas of professional activity and perform the following types of professional work:

• design and engineering (under the guidance of a specialist designer): includes the development of concepts, projects, layouts, models of new ensemble objects, products;
• organizational and management: mastery of professional computer programs in the field of organization and management of project activities; the study of the forms, principles and strategies of entrepreneurial and financial activities in a competitive environment and business.
• research: research work in the field of creating a human environment. 

Basic competencies

To know and understand: about the role in society and the boundaries of design - activities that are constantly changing as a result of the introduction of new computer technologies into the production and social sphere, technical achievements in the field of design, and the increased influence of the media on individual and mass consciousness; general principles of drawing and descriptive geometry, ESKD, industry building norms and rules; fundamentals of interchangeability, standardization and technical measurements; basics of algorithmization and programming; methods of collecting and processing pre-design material, fixing the existing situation; the sequence and nature of actions in the design process (search - analysis - solution); requirements for the design of the project material; features of research work in architectural and design activities;

To be able to: work with reference, literature, draw up reference schemes, determine the sequence of the design process, execute sketch materials, translate the finished design idea into demonstration materials, know the requirements for the design of the design material and correctly present their work on defense; to design goods and objects, industrial designs; preparing a full set of documentation for the design project for its implementation, to carry out basic economic calculations for the implementation of the project; and make production and technical decisions, organize work in a team.
