The purpose of the “Phytosanitary Safety” educational program is the development of students' professional and personal qualities, as well as the formation of general cultural and professional competencies in accordance with the requirements of training a specialist in the field of crop production and employers who meet the requirements.

General characteristics of the educational program
The educational program "Phytosanitary Safety" has been created on the basis of a request from employers due to the increased need for specialists who will have general cultural, professional and core competencies in the protection of plants , contributing to its social mobility and demand in the labor market .
Educational program "Phytosanitary safety" in the direction of preparation: 6B081 Plant developed in accordance with the National Qualifications Framework and the professional standard in plant protection and quarantine activities ( Order of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 21, 2014 No. 20/58) , consistent with the Dublin descriptors of the European Qualifications Framework.
The educational program is designed on the basis of a modular system for the study of disciplines and consists of 1 5 modules. Theoretical training involves the development of 240 credits, 18 credits were allocated to them for professional practice, and 12 credits for final certification.
The educational program is focused on providing comprehensive and high-quality training of competitive, highly qualified specialists capable of solving theoretical and practical tasks of professional activity in modern conditions based on the development of skills and abilities necessary for a future specialist in combination with the requirements of advanced technologies.
Field of professional activity
Graduates who have mastered the "Phytosanitary Safety" educational program in their professional activities will be able to realize themselves in the public service in the field of phytosanitary security; in scientific and production structures of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan; in all types of crop formations; in the centers of phytosanitary diagnostics and forecasts; in quarantine laboratories; introduction of quarantine nurseries; toxic control laboratories; in the laboratories of the biological method, biofactories; border quarantine posts; commercial firms selling machinery and plant protection products; companies in the production (formulation I) pesticides; landscaping and landscaping firms; detachments to eliminate highly dangerous and quarantine organisms, i.e. in demand in all areas of agro complex country.
Professional competencies
Know and understand: laws, decrees, resolutions and regulatory acts on plant protection and quarantine in the Republic of Kazakhstan; knowledge of phytosanitary monitoring methods for pest, disease and weed control of agricultural crops and land (including quarantine objects); professional (practical and theoretical) knowledge and practical experience (or a wide range of theoretical and practical knowledge in the professional field); knowledge of spray equipment and equipment. Knowledge of health and safety regulations; the current state and prospects for the development of plant protection and quarantine in Kazakhstan; methods of phytosanitary monitoring of especially dangerous, harmful organisms and quarantine objects; assortment of pesticides and the technology of their use, rules for the organization and storage of crop production.
Be able to: identify foci of pests, diseases and weeds of agricultural crops and land (including quarantine objects), determine the boundaries of their distribution in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan; phytosanitary accounting and reporting skills; to assess the phytosanitary condition of crops and land and determine the need for protective measures and on plant quarantine ; to predict the mass reproduction and spread of pests, diseases and weeds, as well as to send alarm messages on the timing of their control; make decisions about the feasibility of protective and quarantine measures against pests, plant diseases and weeds and implement them; conduct quarantine screening and examination under quarantine products; to dispose of storage facilities, vehicles, machinery, equipment and devices after applying pesticides; disinfect quarantine products from quarantine facilities.
Own: skills in carrying out protective measures against pests, plant diseases, weeds in conducting quarantine inspections and examination under quarantine products; in the application of legislation on the protection and quarantine of plants; in the organization of chemical processing of grain flows, warehouses and storages, presowing treatment of seed material with pesticides; in determining the need for pesticides and material and technical means, special clothing, personal protective equipment for working with pesticides, ensuring their rational use, proper storage and accounting; in ensuring that workers comply with environmental protection laws, occupational health and fire safety regulations and standards; Develop plans and schedules for conducting phytosanitary measures to control pests, diseases and weeds of agricultural crops (including quarantine objects).
