The purpose of the educational program: The educational program “Food safety” on the specialty 6B092 - Food safety was developed due to changes in the legal framework of the veterinary service, in accordance with the requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union and the World Trade Organization, as well as recommendations of employers (leading state veterinary organizations and private-entrepreneurial veterinary services). The main goal of the educational program is to study the issues of ensuring biological and food safety, which are currently the most relevant. In this regard, the content of the modular educational program is aimed at obtaining knowledge and practical skills for carrying out veterinary and sanitary examination of animal products in the conditions of the Eurasian Economic Union and the WTO, as well as in accordance with the requirements and recommendations of international veterinary organizations (OIE, FAO, WHO and others).
General characteristics of the educational program: The “Food Safety” educational program was compiled in accordance with the National Qualifications Framework and professional standards, coordinated with the Dublin descriptors and the European Qualifications Framework. The educational program contains theoretical training, including the study of cycles of general education, basic and major subjects; additional types of training, professional practice, physical education, etc. The volume of the educational program is 300 credits, including 240 credits of theoretical training, 28 credits of professional practice, 8 credits of physical culture and 12 credits of writing the thesis, 12 credits of final certification.
The relevance of the developed educational program (OP) is harmonized with the requirements of the typical curriculum and competencies of the first day graduate (specialist in veterinary medicine) by the World Health Organization and FAO, which provides the possibility of integrating the EP into the international veterinary educational space.
The peculiarity of the developed EP is the coordination of 60-70 with educational work programs with leading world universities in the field of veterinary education (Liebig University of California, Davis University of California, Toulouse National Veterinary school), which will contribute to the professional mobility of students.
