Purpose of the educational program: The main goal of the educational program is to master the issues of ensuring the quality and safety of food products by doctorate students. In this regard, the content of the educational program is aimed at obtaining knowledge and practical skills for carrying out veterinary and sanitary examination of food quality and safety in the conditions of the Customs Union and the World Trade Organization, and in accordance with the requirements and recommendations of international veterinary organizations (OIE, FAO, WHO, etc.).

The main objectives of the educational doctoral program in the specialty 8D091-Veterinary are:

  • to teach doctoral students to modern methods of practical organization and work on the veterinary and sanitary examination of food products;
  • to introduce doctoral students with the main groups of foreign substances contained in food products that can cause harm to animals and humans bodies;
  • to teach methods for determining the main foreign substances contained in food products;
  • to provide an individual educational trajectory of study in accordance with the chosen specialty of doctoral students;
  • to develop the ability of students to self-improvement and to master new knowledge;
  • to contribute to the acquisition of skills of participation in scientific events at various levels, the continuation of scientific training in post-doctoral studies.

General characteristics of the educational program: The educational program for the specialty " 8D091 – Sanitary and ecological safety of livestock products " was developed in accordance with the National Qualifications Framework and professional standards, consistent with the Dublin descriptors and the European Qualifications Framework, based on the State Compulsory Education Standard of Postgraduate Education, Magistracy, approved by the Order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan on October 31 2018 No. 604, registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan on November 1, 2018 No. 17669.

Typical tasks of the professional activity of the doctor of philosophy (PhD) of the specialty 6D120200 - Veterinary sanitation are aimed at solving the following questions.

In the field of expert supervisory activities:

  • assessment of the quality and safety of products of animal and vegetable origin;
  • veterinary and sanitary control over the production, transportation, and sale of products and raw materials of animal origin;
  • prevention of diseases transmitted through products and raw materials of animal origin;
  • protection of the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan from the introduction of contagious diseases through imported products and raw materials;

In the field of industrial and technological activities:

  • organization and control of compliance with the technology of production, processing, storage, transportation and sale of products of animal and vegetable origin; organization and control of the manufacture and use of medicines, biological products and feed additives; control of the preparation of feed for animals;

In the field of organizational and management activities:

  • control over compliance with veterinary legislation in the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • control of biological pollution of the environment;
  • training and control over the observance by veterinary personnel and other workers of animal husbandry, poultry farming and fish farming safety precautions in working with animals, birds and fish;
  • control over the observance of veterinary and sanitary rules in the production and sale of fish farming, poultry, animal and vegetable origin, biologically active substances and additives;
  • management of a professional team engaged in expert supervisory activities, assessment of the economic efficiency of veterinary and sanitary measures.

In the field of control activities:

  • control over quality, compliance with standards and compliance with the rules of veterinary-sanitary examination and hygiene, technology at the enterprises of the meat and dairy industry, slaughter houses, slaughterhouses, mini-plants, workshops and other enterprises producing livestock products;

In the field of educational activities:

  • pedagogical work in secondary professional schools on the profile of the specialty, training and retraining of veterinary specialists engaged in expert supervisory activities.

In the field of research activities:

  • conducting scientific research and experiments in research and production facilities of the veterinary, biological, ecological and food industry.

In the area of project activities:

  • Participation in the preparation and expertise of project and estimate documentation for the construction objects of food, meat and dairy facilities (meat processing plants, slaughter houses, milk plants, mini-plants for the production of sausages, canned goods, cheese-makers, etc.) industry, distribution network, laboratory and veterinary-sanitary market expertise.
