The purpose of the educational program: to train competitive specialists in the Animal Husbandry educational program, which involves gaining deep theoretical and practical skills in animal breeding and livestock and poultry production technology that meets employers' requirements.

The objectives of the educational program:

  • Providing conditions for obtaining a full-fledged high-quality professional education;
  • The formation of social and personal values ​​of the graduate, as well as environmental, physical, ethical, legal culture and a culture of thinking;
  • Education in the spirit of patriotism and respect for various cultures, traditions and customs;
  • The formation of basic knowledge necessary for the development of professional disciplines;
  • Creation of conditions for the assimilation of universal human concepts and principles, the development of skills in the analysis of organizational and technological situations and the practical application of acquired knowledge, allowing the graduate to successfully work in the field of livestock production on farms of various forms of ownership;
  • Preparation of the graduate for professional activities, mobility, continuous professional and moral improvement and growth throughout life;
  • Formation of competitiveness of graduates in the labor market to provide opportunities.

General characteristics of the educational program

The animal husbandry educational program was developed in accordance with the classifier of training areas with higher and postgraduate education (Approved by order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 569 of October 13, 2018) and agreed with the Dublin descriptors and the European Qualifications Framework.

The livestock educational program takes into account the demands of employers in connection with the increased need for specialists who have general cultural, professional and specialized competences in the field of livestock production, which contributes to its social mobility and demand on the labor market.

The features of the implemented program are the formation and development of social, professional, practice-oriented competence, which allows combining social, personal, professional competencies to solve problems in the field of livestock.

The educational program is aimed at providing comprehensive and high-quality training for competitive, highly qualified specialists, capable of solving theoretical and practical tasks of professional activity in modern conditions based on the development of skills and abilities required by a future specialist in combination with the requirements of advanced technologies.

The educational program includes theoretical training in the amount of 205 credits and practical training in the amount of 15 credits and the final control - 12 credits. In this case, the student must master 51 credits or 1530 hours for the compulsory component (JED cycle), 86 credits or 2580 hours for the university component, and 91 credits or 2730 hours for the optional component.

Graduates who have mastered the educational program "Animal Husbandry" can work: at enterprises and organizations in the agricultural sector; agricultural firms; organizations for assessing the quality of livestock products; agricultural research institutions; vocational schools, regardless of ownership in the area of ​​training; institutions of the livestock industry, in the apparatus of local, district regional, republican structures; livestock farms, complexes, poultry farms, hippodromes, pedigree factories, research laboratories, zoos, nature reserves, farms, various companies in the livestock industry.

know and understand: the basics of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of professional activity; innovative technologies for livestock production; modern feed production technologies; new methods of breeding, assessment of cattle and small cattle; livestock by-product processing technology; fundamentals of farm management; basic principles of business planning at livestock production enterprises; basic principles of marketing, commercial transactions in production.

be able to: apply the knowledge acquired in the learning process, skills in professional activities; plan, organize production activities to obtain high-quality livestock products; manage existing processes based on a systematic approach to analyzing the quality of products and raw materials; work with information management technologies in the economy; use innovative methods and tools in practice to increase production; to analyze the balance of feed, develop pasture rotation schemes, green conveyor, technology for harvesting, storage and use of different types of feed; keep records in the framework of professional activities; 

skills to have: in solving organizational and economic issues and the organization and technology of livestock production; organizing and maintaining zootechnical and pedigree registration of animals, birds, breeding work to improve pedigree and productive qualities; organization and production of feed preparation, calculate feed demand, chemical analysis of the composition and quality of feed; development and preparation of breeding and breeding plans, participation in the development of design estimates for the construction of livestock facilities, organization of quality control, marketing and marketing of livestock products.
