On the eve of Veterinary Worker Day of Kazakhstan, a round table was held at Saken Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University on the topic “Current issues in veterinary medicine: status and solutions.”

The event dedicated to Veterinary Worker Day was attended by Vice Minister of Agriculture Amangaliy Berdalin, veterinary veterans who were at the origins of the development of the Law on Veterinary Medicine, representatives of the veterinary service, and scientists.

The Vice Minister of Agriculture noted the importance of the work of the veterinary service of Kazakhstan and spoke about plans for its development in the near future.

The round table participants emphasized the importance of improving work and attracting young specialists to the industry, strengthening work to improve the qualifications of practicing veterinary specialists. Particular attention is paid to the issues of delineating functions and powers in the field of veterinary medicine, simplifying the work of a veterinarian through digitalization of processes, increasing wages for veterinarians and social support measures as part of reforming the system.

The head of the Veterinary Control and Supervision Committee, Samat Tyulegenov, focused on increasing the level of trust in the veterinary service and its image, as well as the safety of products, by raising awareness of animal owners and introducing international standards.

In conclusion, the participants summarized that holding such round tables helps strengthen the veterinary industry in Kazakhstan.
