From June 25 to June 27, 2024, the delegation of Saken Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University headed by the Rector Kanat Tireuov took part in the international forum of scientific and technical cooperation “China - Central Asia”, held in Urumqi in China. At the same time the Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Darkhan Ahmed-Zaki also took part in the forum.
During the forum, a Memorandum of research and technical cooperation was signed, aimed at implementing joint research projects in the field of agricultural science and education of the PRC with the participation of research and industrial institutions of the countries of Central Asia and Kazakhstan.
Saken Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University, Xinjiang Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Association of Science and Technology of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China, National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ministry of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan and S. Utebaev Atyrau University of Oil and Gas have signed this memorandum.
Before signing the memorandum, working meetings were held with the Association of Science and Technology of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China, and the parties also took part in an international symposium. The symposium was attended by heads of the national academies of sciences of Central Asia and representatives of research institutions of the People's Republic of China. During the symposium, future directions and mechanisms of cooperation between KATRU and the above-mentioned Association were defined.
