On June 12, 2018, the first defense of 4 Master students on the double diploma program with the University of Milan (Italy), specializing in 6M070300-Information Systems was held at S.Seifullin KazakhOn June 12, 2018, the first defense of 4 Master students on the double diploma program with the University of Milan (Italy), specializing in 6M070300-Information Systems was held at S.Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University (hereinafter KATU) for the first time in the history of KATU. The course of defense was observed by the foreign partners, academic leaders from the University of Milan-the foreign partner university, Professors Stefano Ferrari and Francesco Piuri, as well as representatives of the Italian Embassy in Astana in online mode.
Great contribution was made to the organization of cooperation and implementation of the double diploma program with the foreign partner university, Milan University (Italy) by the director of the International Cooperation and Multilingual Education Development Center at KATU S.A. Meiramova, who initiated the signing of an agreement on the implementation of the master's degree double diploma program in two specialties "Information Systems" (IS) and "Computer Science and Software" (CSaS) as early as 2014, as well as the dean of the Faculty of Computer Systems and Software A.Zh Askarova, the head of the Department of the Postgraduate Education A.Sh Imasheva, head of the department of "Information Systems" A.A. Ismailova and the representatives of the departments of information systems for the development and harmonization of double diploma modular educational program with a foreign partner university.
Chairman of the Certification Commission of KATU, Professor A.A. Adamov noted that during the defense of the thesis the Master students showed their professional knowledge, a high level of the English language, since the defense was carried out in English language. In addition, during the defense of the master's thesis, each Master student of KATU demonstrated additional advanced knowledge, skills and abilities they received during their stay at the partner university in Italy, at the University of Milan, from the leading teachers of the university.
We should note that the completion of the double diploma program significantly enhances the opportunities of these students in employment after graduation from KATU and the University of Milan, providing them with better job opportunities and prospects for a successful career both in Kazakhstan and abroad.
