Modern services are being improved on the basis of computerization, information technologies, new ways of communication. As the result of service improvement :

- he has more free time and all necessary conditions for his creative and scientific development.

Students’ service satisfies all their needs accounting their individual inquiries by means of services, where service is a unity of process and work activity result satisfied to the domestic demands.

From November 21 till November 28, 2007 «Zhas Otan»YC (Youth committee) Astana together with «Altyn Gasyr » PU (Public Union) conducted a competition «the best hostel of Astana city 2007». The basic purposes of this activity are to reveal social problems of students residing in the capital hostels, to attract public attention to the given problems and to improve educational process quality and to create corresponding conditions of leisure and life in students’ hostels of high schools.

Competition has been held in 3 stages:
1 stage - 18-21 November - information day, criteria of hostels estimation hallmarks, mobile groups formation, schedule of hostels visiting.
2 stage - 21-26 November - mobile groups visited city hostels for their estimation.
3 stage - 27-28 November – competition results, prize-winners place, encouragement with letters of thanks, awarding with prizes and diplomas.

The jury members have been «Zhas Otan» YC Astana: N.V.Shinkaretskaya, E.A. Bagdatov, A.A.Zakarin., A.A.Kolesnikov, A.A. Zhazbumanova.

The contest commission has come around 23 hostels of high schools and special educational establishments; it has carried out the analysis of conditions of students hostels at universities. The basic criteria at estimations have been:
• Outside condition of hostels.
• Inside condition of hostels.
• Condition of rooms and furniture.
• Administration work, domestic conditions of residing, service conditions.

According to result revealed in that competition seven best students’ hostels of Astana have been determined:
1. KazAU hostel №7.
2. Hostel of Polytechnical College.
3. Hostel of L.N.Gumilev Euroasian National University № 2.
4. KazAU hostel № 2б
5. Hostel of Kazakh National Academy of Music.
6. KazAU hostel № 6.
7. Hostel of the Kazakh College of Transport and Communications.

The honorable first place and « the best students’ hostel» nomination has been awarded to S.Seifullin KazAU hostel № 7 which corresponded to all criteria.

In S.Seifullin KazAU hostels there are corresponding conditions of life and leisure function for improvement of service and educational process qualities:
- Internet computer classes, relaxing rooms (television halls), rooms for self-preparation, library;
- Gyms, hairdresser's, laundries, public telephones, canteens (dining rooms);
- Custodial service.

Such sphere of service became possible due to the initiative students of university and assistance of the management of high school.
