Selection of candidates for the football section has been made since September. Due to the high popularity of the game, 100 or more applicants came to each training session during the selection period. Each applicant got the opportunity to participate in two-sided games to demonstrate their level. The KazATU football team was formed based on the results of the selection. "Section for beginners" was additionally opened due to the large number of football fans.
In October, the selection was continued at the games of the football tournament of the Spartakiad "Freshman". All players who showed themselves well in the Games of the Spartakiad received an invitation to participate in the section.
On November 16, in preparation for the Student League tournament, a friendly match was held with the team of ENU named after Gumilyov. The meeting ended with the score 3:3.
