6 - 14 October, 2022, events dedicated to the National Awareness Day were held at the S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University as part of the ERASMUS + 598661-EPP-1-2018-1-RO-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP project “Development of services for people with disabilities” – “DECIDE”

Offline training: "Inclusion and the library"

On October 6, the library hosted an event dedicated to the National Awareness Day, the training "Inclusion and the Library" with the 1st year students of the Faculty of Economics "Audit and Taxation"

  

The purpose of the training: dissemination of knowledge in the field of inclusive education; implementation of inclusive education principles at the university, in the effective integration of people with disabilities into society by improving access to libraries.

The participants heard about inclusive education, what services the library provides during maintenance, what conditions the library creates for the further development of inclusive education. The rights of people with special needs and their relationship with society, their everyday problems in the modern world were discussed.

It was mentioned that an inclusive room was opened in the library to provide assistance and advice to readers with special needs, and the site of the scientific library was adapted for visually impaired people.

Open lesson: "Dyslexia: causes, symptoms and methods of correction."

Further, on October 6, according to the program of events, it was planned to conduct a lesson on the topic: "Dyslexia: causes, symptoms and methods of correction."

 

The moderators of this event were: Esekeshova M.D. – head of the department, candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor, Kochkorbaeva E.Sh. - Master of Psychology, Senior Lecturer, Bekbayeva Zh.S. – Doctor PhD, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Professional Education.

The purpose of the event is to raise awareness about inclusive education, discuss ways to develop an inclusive society.

At an open lesson with 1st year undergraduates of the faculty of Computer Science, Architecture, the problems of dyslexia were discussed, the causes were indicated and methods of correction were considered. During the lesson, a training on the formation of tolerance was also held.

Majority of students actively expressed their points of view, their positions, put forward proposals on this issue, performed all the exercises on the level of tolerance, etc. Thus, the event was held at the proper level and achieved its goals, arousing considerable interest among the audience.

Roundtable: Reducing Inequality Through Technology: An Inclusive Education Perspective

The topic of the round table aroused great interest among the participants, the problems of inclusive education were touched upon, the problems of adaptation of people with disabilities, as well as the integration and education of tolerant attitudes among the population, namely among the younger generation, proposals were made on the use of technical means to equalize conditions for teaching people with special needs.

 The participants prepared reports on the topic of technology integration in inclusive education. Such aspects of inclusive education were discussed as the principles of effective implementation of inclusion at all stages of education, the use of mobile applications for the multidimensional introduction of people with special needs in all spheres of society.

The works of the following students can be noted, where a deep analysis of the topic under study and high motivation for its further development can be traced: Shaikasym Erdaulet, Kazbek Ualikhan, Kulzhabekova Saya and Pak Darya.

It should be noted the importance of holding such events, since with the help of them it is possible to solve a number of important tasks of educating the younger generation:

 - development, education among young people of a respectful attitude towards people with disabilities;

-drawing attention to an in-depth study of the project's issues;

- assistance in improving the effectiveness of the educational environment for people with special needs;

- developing in students a sense of involvement in inclusive education, as well as a sense of responsibility for creating comfortable conditions for the learning of all participants in the educational process.

Round table: "Inclusive white berudin theories and practices"

On October 10, 2022 at 10.45 a round table was held round table

"Theory and practice of inclusive education". Head of the Department of Kazakh and Russian Languages, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor A.Sh. Tleulesova and a number of teachers. Senior Lecturer of the Department, Master of Linguistics T.Kh. Smataev acted as a moderator. Senior lecturer of the department, candidate of philological sciences D.D. Bismildina made a meaningful report on the topic "Problems of inclusive education (foreign inclusive education)". The participants shared their thoughts.

Round table "Development of inclusive education: experience, problems, prospects"

On October 12, the Library hosted a Round Table "Development of Inclusive Education: Experience, Problems, Prospects". The participants heard about inclusive education, discussed what problems exist and considered the prospects for the development of education, and also emphasized the importance of inclusive education for the further development of the inclusion of people with special needs in society.

On October 11-14, a meeting was held with Padraig Kirby, Head of Research and Innovation Project, Shannon Technological University, Midlands, Midwest, Ireland. We got acquainted with the presentation Introduction to the Development of Services for People with Disabilities (DECIDE) project.

  

Promotion of the DECIDE project: practical results and results [Presentation].

At the end of the events, it can be noted that the participants were informed about the project, about new opportunities and services, and learned a lot of interesting things about the importance of promoting the project.

Master class: "Formation of an inclusive educational environment at the university"

On October 13, 2022, a master class was held on the topic: "Formation of an inclusive educational space at the university."

The objectives of the master class were: dissemination of knowledge in the field of problems of inclusive education; implementation of the principles of inclusive education at the university; study of ways to form an inclusive environment in a university; formation of tolerance and empathy, self-awareness of students at the university for the development of an inclusive environment at the university.

  

The moderators of this event were: Esekeshova M.D. –head of the department, candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor, senior lecturer, Bekbayeva Zh.S. – Doctor PhD, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Vocational Education, Kochkorbayeva E.Sh. - Master of Psychology,

At this event, with 1st year master degree students of the faculties "Computer Systems and Vocational Education", "Land Management, Architecture and Design", as well as "Economics", the issues of developing an inclusive environment at the university were discussed, and the legislative framework in the field of inclusive education was considered, structure of the inclusive educational environment, inclusive culture and social model of interaction between the subjects of the educational space.

During the event, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Philosophy, expert of the Center for Support of Students with Disabilities Zeinullina Zh.R. shared her experience in the form of recommendations, methods, techniques and means of teaching students with disabilities.

The master class participants discussed and put forward proposals for the development of an inclusive educational environment, an inclusive society.

As a result, the event achieved its goals and was held at a high scientific and practical level.

According to the results of the events held for the NAD for the period October 6-14, 2022, more than 120 people took part in total.

    

Resolution of the National Disability Awareness Day (NAD) within the framework of the EU Erasmus + DECIDE project: "Development of services for persons with disabilities"

1. Involvement of public organizations for holding seminars, webinars and trainings with the participation of the pedagogical community on social and psychological support of students with disabilities and students with special educational needs.

2. Assistance in the promotion of inclusive education ideas, acceptance of the principles and priorities of inclusion in society.

3. Conducting events to support inclusive education in parenting communities, in the media;

4. Developing students’ sense of involvement in inclusive education, as well as a sense of responsibility for creating comfortable learning conditions for all participants in the educational process.

5. Popularization of the inclusive education topic in society, schools, colleges, and universities.

6. Development of opportunities for a versatile personality formation, actively exploring the world, able to learn, capable of organizing their own activities, respecting and accepting the values of the family and society, the history and culture of each nation.

7. Involvement of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) for conducting webinars and trainings to create conditions and adequate support for inclusive education process.
