On December 5, 2023, at the Faculty of Land Management, Architecture and Design of the S.Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University, a solemn opening ceremony was held for the named classrooms of the Honored Scientist of the Kazakh SSR, Honorary citizen of Astana, Doctor of Economics, Honorary Land Surveyor – Moisey Aronovich Handelman. The opening ceremony was attended by the University management headed by the Chairman of the Board-Rector, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.M.Tireuov, Director of Agrofirma Rodina LLP, Hero of Labor of Kazakhstan, member of the Board of Directors of KazAgro Innovation JSC I.A.Sauer, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor of the International Academy of Sciences of Higher School B.O. Alimzhanov, Chairman A.V.Mayer, Professor of the Warsaw University of Technology P.T.Kupidura, Head of the Department for Registration and Land Cadastre of the Saryarka district D.S.Abitov, Honorary Architect of the Republic of Kazakhstan A.Sh. Chikanaev is also a faculty member, etc.

Moisey Aronovich went from a graduate student and assistant of the department to a professor and rector of one of the largest agricultural universities in the country, KazATU named after S.Seifullin with a powerful scientific and educational production base.

Moisey Aronovich devoted more than 50 years of his life to land management science and land management. He has trained 47 candidates and 10 doctors of sciences. He is the author and co-author of 250 scientific papers that lay the modern foundations for the organization and rational use of land resources, which are relevant and developed by his students and followers at our university and far beyond.

Thanks to the legacy of M.A. Gendelman, our university is the largest agricultural university in Central and Northern Kazakhstan and the first higher educational institution in Astana.
