Department « Transport engineering and technologies » was established in 2015 at the Department of «Technical Service».
The «Technical Service» department was formed in 2000 as a result of uniting of «Tractors and Cars» and «Operation of agricultural machinery» departments which were formed during faculty’s formation in 1961 and 1962.
The main activities of the department are conducting research work and teaching disciplines in the areas of transport, transport equipment, organization of transportations, traffic management and transport operation. The department trains students according to the educational programs of Bachelors 6В071 - "Transport, transport equipment and technologies"; 6В113 - "Logistics in transport"; 6В113 - “Organization and road safety”; Master 7M071 - "Transport, transport equipment and technology"; and doctoral studies 8D071 - “Transport, transport equipment and technologies”.
At present, thenumber of degree holders in the department of «Transport engineering and technologies » is 50%. There is 1 Doctor of technical science, as well as,4 Candidates of technical science and assistant professors, 6 candidates of technical science, 6 lecturers, 5 masters. During the last 5 years, several lecturers of the department hadresearch internships in the universities of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, «MTW» JSC, Minsk, the Republic of Belarus
«Transport engineering and technologies »Department has educational and training facilities, which provide training in accordance with the requirements of the state obligatory standards, including 15 classrooms, 6 specialized laboratories, 2 computer labs. Classrooms and other teaching and laboratory facilities are equipped with appropriate furniture and necessary inventory and equipment.
Material and technical base of the department include: hydraulics laboratory and hydraulic machines; laboratory of vehicles maintenance; classroom of traffic rules; comprehensive interdepartmental laboratory of design and construction of internal combustion engines, tractors, vehicles and their systems components and parts; laboratory of testing and theory of working processes of internal combustion engines; laboratory of vehicles’ fuel and lubricants.

The research work of the department is related to the needs of agricultural production. Research work of the department is performed according to the perspective and annual plans of scientific research works of the university, faculty and department. Also, teaching staff of the department plans to publish educational literature, textbooks and monographs.
In 2016 the department concluded the economic contract to conduct research work on «Development of a computer application «Determination of dynamic loads on the beltduring operation of the belt conveyor» with total sum of one million tenge with «Zertec»LLP, in Astana.
According to the agreements and memorandums of cooperation, the department keeps in touch with the following universities: Chelyabinsk State Agroengineering Academy, T.S. Maltsev Kurgan State Agricultural Academy, Siberian Physico-Technical Institute of Agrarian Problems of RAAS, Siberian Institute of mechanization and electrification of RAAS, Novosibirsk State Agrarian University, The Siberian Automobile and Highway Academy (SibADI), etc.

The Department of Transport Engineering and Technology is working to expand international cooperation with higher educational institutions of the near and far abroad, such as the Siberian State Automobile and Road University (SibADI), the Ostrava Technical University (Czech Republic), the Poznan Polytechnic University (Poland), the Sofia Chemical-Technological and Metallurgical University of Science and Technology (Bulgaria), the Tadeusz Kosciuszko Krakow Polytechnic Institute (Poland), the Krakow University of Science and Technology AGH-UST (Poland), etc.
In the period from November 25 to December 07, 2018, the department was visited by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor DimitarKaraivanov from the Sofia Chemical-Technological and Metallurgical University of Science and Technology (Bulgaria) and gave lectures, conducted practical classes for bachelors of educational programs: "Transport, Transport Equipment and Technology", "Logistics in transport" and "Organization and Safety of road traffic", held consultations for undergraduates and doctoral students of educational programs "Transport, Transport equipment and Technology".
In order to implement the academic mobility of bachelors and undergraduates within the framework of the Memorandum on mutual cooperation in the provision of educational services within the framework of academic mobility programs between the NAO "Kazakh Agrotechnical University named after SakenSeifullin" and the Buryat State Agricultural Academy named after V. R. Filippov (Russia), the 3rd year bachelors of the educational program 6B065 - "Transport, Transport equipment and technologies" are trained using distance educational technologies in the autumn trimester of the 2020-2021 academic year.

Upbringing work at the department «Transport engineering and technologies» is important component of educational work, which is conducted in accordance with «Collection of regulations and normative documents of organization and conducting of educational work in S.Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical University» and in clued the following directions: organizational, work with the tutors on organization of legal, patriotic, moral, aesthetic and physical education of students.
Upbringing work at the department is carried out by lecturers and tutors in 11 groups from the 1st to 4th courses on specialties: 5B090100 - «The organization of transportations, traffic and transport operation» and 5B071300 - «Transport, transport equipment and technologies». For the purpose to organize the upbringing work at the beginning of academic year (cathedral, individual, tutors) are developed and approved. During the academic year, the work on legal education and crime prevention among students is carried out. Weekly tutors of groups in accordance with the timetable and the «calendar plan of tutor hours» perform tutorial hours.
Group tutors with non-governmental organizations and students organize social and cultural life in the group, which helps to create in group to friendly, cohesive team for preparing highly skilled and well-rounded professionals with higher education and formation of their active life position.
To solve the problems of upbringing and educational problems group tutors use a variety of forms and methods of work with students, the main ones of it are: to attract students to work in public life, interviews, debates, meetings with prominent personalities, excursions to historical sites, etc. For example:

The Olympiad is held within the framework of the republican student Olympiads in order to identify the development of special professional abilities of future specialists and is one of the factors for supporting talented students, as well as for forming a team to participate in national and international Olympiads.
The main goals and objectives of the Olympiad are:
1) stimulating the educational and cognitive and research activities of students;
2) disclosure of professional and personal potential of students, their self-awareness, creative abilities, creation of conditions for self-realization and self-affirmation;
3) education of students ' civic position;
4) selection and support of the most talented and gifted students;
5) formation of an active professional attitude to the improvement of the education system
The order of the Republican Olympiad.
The Republican Olympiad is held in 2 stages:
1) the first stage-intra-university;
2) the second stage - in basic universities;
Students of higher educational institutions in priority areas of training and specialties of higher education can take part in the first stage of the Olympiad.
The Rector (vice-rector) of the university organizes competition commissions for the relevant sections of the competition, including representatives of leading scientific organizations, industrial enterprises, and local authorities.
According to the results of the first stage of the Olympiad (intra-university), the competition commission of the university, approved by the order of the rector, selects and sends the best students of the university to the basic universities on a competitive basis to participate in the second stage of the competition.
When nominating students to participate in the second stage of the Olympiad, the higher educational institution sends the following documents to the base university:
- a letter signed by the rector (vice-rector) on the results of the first stage of the Olympiad or a decision of the Academic Council of the university, which is drawn up in a protocol.
The dates of the first stage (intra-university) are determined by the order of the rector of the university from October 1 to January 1, the second stage (in basic universities ) from January 1 to April 1 of the current year.

The competition commission of the basic university recommends that the winners be awarded in the following order:
for the 1st place-a diploma of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the first degree (no more than one student);
for the 2nd place-diplomas of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the II degree (no more than two students);
for the 3rd place-diplomas of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the III degree (no more than three students).
The decision of the republican commission to determine the winners of the II stage of the Olympiad is made out by the corresponding protocol, signed by all its members.
The next Olympiad in the specialty is held on the basis of the university, the student of which took the first place in the corresponding specialty.
