Training of specialists in the field of forestry and ecology had started in 2001 on behalf of Elbasy N. Nazarbayev to create a green zone around the capital Astana, where a real forest has already formed in the green belt, it has already become a habitat for wild animals. In addition, everyone knows that the forest is a part of ecology, which indicates the possibility of combining these areas for the training of specialists.
The Faculty of Forestry, Wildlife and the Environment began its history on April 30, 2021. The faculty has trained more than 2000 specialists, most of whom hold leading engineering and administrative positions in the national economy not only in Kazakhstan, but also in the CIS countries and far abroad. The faculty is considered one of the leading in Central and Northern Kazakhstan in its profile.

Professional and teaching staff of the faculty includes 53 highly qualified specialists, including 5 doctors of sciences, 19 candidates of sciences, 9 PhDs, 8 masters. Among them one lecturer is a graduate of the "Bolashak" program, 7 lecturers are holders of the title "The best lecturer of the university". The contingent of students is 836 students, 26 undergraduates and 7 doctoral students.
