Faculty of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment

Training of specialists in the field of forestry and ecology had started in 2001 on behalf of Elbasy N. Nazarbayev to create a green zone around the capital Astana, where a real forest has already formed in the green belt, it has already become a habitat for wild animals. In addition, everyone knows that the forest is a part of ecology, which indicates the possibility of combining these areas for the training of specialists.

The Faculty of Forestry, Wildlife and the Environment began its history on April 30, 2021. The faculty has trained more than 2000 specialists, most of whom hold leading engineering and administrative positions in the national economy not only in Kazakhstan, but also in the CIS countries and far abroad. The faculty is considered one of the leading in Central and Northern Kazakhstan in its profile.

Professional and teaching staff of the faculty includes 57 highly qualified specialists, including 5 doctors of sciences, 22 candidates of sciences, 7 PhDs, 23 masters. Among them one lecturer is a graduate of the "Bolashak" program, 6 lecturers are holders of the title "The best lecturer of the university". The contingent of students is 1148 students, 23 undergraduates and 11 doctoral students.

Leading scientists of the faculty have 6 scientific schools in the field of forestry and the environment. Faculty lecturers fruitfully develop scientific and practical problems in various areas of forestry and the environment, forest protection, agriculture, agrochemistry and crop production.

The employability of graduates of the faculty in 2023 was 87%.

The Dean of the Facultya "Forestry, Wildlife and Environment" from 2021 to 2023 was Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Dani Nurgisaevna Sarsekova.

Currently, the faculty is headed by the candidate of agricultural sciences Boranbay Zhumagul Taatkanuly.
