Modern conditions of development of Kazakhstan society pose new challenges to higher education. The higher education system should prepare not only an educated person, but also a citizen, a patriot of his country. And in this regard, the role of humanitarian education, which forms a person's worldview, is great. Humanitarian education is more than in demand today. The facets of humanities education intersect with history, economics, linguistics, and psychology.

The successful management of the Department of Kazakh and Russian languages since 2019 has been carried out by PhD, Associate Professor Tleulesova Ardak Shaikenovna.

The history of the Department of Kazakh and Russian languages begins in 1990: this year the Department of Kazakh Language was established at the Tselinograd Agricultural Institute. Russian Russian and German languages In 2012, two departments – 1) Kazakh language and 2) Russian and German languages - were transformed into the Department of Kazakh and Russian Languages.

The first head of the department was Kozhakhmetova A.K. In different years before and after the unification of the departments, the heads were (in the order of management):

Since 2019, the department has been successfully led by Ph.D., Ass. Professor Tleulesova A.Sh.

In a short time, a lot of organizational work has been carried out, a high-quality educational and methodological training base has been prepared. The management of the department by personal example and enthusiasm contributes to the development of the scientific potential of the department.

Currently, the teaching staff of the department is represented by teachers of different generations who make a worthy contribution to the development of humanitarian education not only at the department, but also at the faculty as a whole, at the university.

The formation of the department is also facilitated by the membership of teachers in Academies of Sciences.  International and Republican Academies of Sciences unite the most outstanding scientists in a particular field of science in their ranks. Corresponding member of Madyutik is Ph.D., associate Professor Ayapbergenov B.K., corresponding members of APN RK are associate professors K.H.Rakhimzhanov K.H., Akosheva M.To.

The teachers of the department have been awarded the title of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan "The best university teacher" in different years, as well as the laureates of the state Prize named after Y among the teachers of the department.Altynsarina.

As is known, the Hirsch index is a quantitative characteristic of the productivity of scientists, a scientific organization based on the number of publications and the number of citations of these publications. To date, the Hirsch index (SCOPUS) has teachers of the department Tleulesova A.Sh., Tuksaitova R.O., Akosheva M.K., Rakhimzhanov K.Kh., Kurmanova Z.K., Albekova A.Sh.

The degree of the department is 88%.

Representatives of the older generation of the department skillfully transfer their experience and knowledge to future scientists: in 2018, teachers Kazgalieva A.M., Akhmetova A.A., Akazhanova A.A., having successfully passed the entrance exams, entered and completed a PhD on a grant basis at universities of Kazakhstan.



Department history

The Department of Kazakh and Russian languages has been successfully managed by Tleulesova Ardak Shaikenovna, c.p.sc., Associate Professor since 2019.

The history of the Department of Kazakh and Russian languages begins in 1990: this year Department of the Kazakh language was first established in Tselinograd agricultural Institute. A lot of organizational work was carried out in a short time,  a high-quality methodological base was prepared for teaching the disciplines of the Department.

EDUCATIONAL AND METHODICAL WORK

In accordance with the plan, educational and methodological work is carried out at the department.  The department uses the following types of control when assessing students' knowledge: current, intermediate and final control, oral survey, test method, combined exam.

The educational and material base of the department meets modern requirements.

The department has 6 classrooms equipped with the necessary equipment.

Teachers of the department systematically work to improve the quality of students' knowledge. This is aimed at conducting training seminars, open lessons, the widespread use of modern technologies and interactive teaching methods. ZOOM, Google Meet, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Kahoot educational test application, personal websites, etc. are actively used in the distance learning format.

Based on a new standard program designed for 10 credits (300 hours), taking into account the trimester format of training, new UMKDS have been developed for both Kazakh and Russian languages for levels A1, A2, B1, B2, C1. Thus, starting from the 2019-2020 academic year, work is being carried out according to work programs compiled on the basis of the Standard Program of 2018, adapted for training in trimesters.

The provision of educational literature in two disciplines, Kazakh and Russian, is 100%.

Research work at the department

The faculty of the department takes an active part in republican and foreign conferences, seminars, round tables. Scientific works of the faculty of the department are published in scientific journals recommended by COXON MES RK, in the materials of conferences in Kazakhstan and abroad.

The works of the teaching staff of the department of Tleulesova A.Sh., Tuksaitova R.O., Akosheva M.K., Rakhimzhanova K.Kh., Kurmanova Z.K., Albekova A.Sh., Imanberdieva S.K., Aidarbekova Zh.K., Abdrakhmanova A.E., Toksanbayeva T.Zh. on current problems of education and science have been published in journals abroad indexed in Scopus and Web of Science databases.

INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND METHODOLOGICAL SEMINARS

Since 2019, the annual holding of international scientific and methodological seminars, republican Olympiads, republican poetry contests of young talents has become traditional. Here are some of them:

On January 14, 2020, within the framework of the "Rukhani Zhangyru" program and the 175th anniversary of the birth of Abai Kunanbayev, the Department of Kazakh and Russian Languages jointly with the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan held a scientific seminar "Abai is a poet, thinker, translator".

On June 4, 2020, under the scientific guidance of Tleulesova Ardak Shaikenovna, an educational and methodological online seminar "Distance learning technologies in the educational process" was organized with the participation of teachers of foreign and republican universities. The purpose of the educational and methodological seminar is to exchange experience with domestic and foreign methodologists on the use of distance learning technologies in the educational process. The seminar participants were professors of the Hobda University in Bayan-ulgi -  Zhylkyaidar Hinalgan (Mongolia); Bashkir SPU - Nabiullina G.M.;   Tashkent Agrotechnical University - Abdullayev U.T.; University named after Baisheva  - Isina Zh. A.; Pavlodar SPU - Kenenbaevna M.A.; Center of Multilingualism of the National Academy of Education - Toksanbayeva T.Zh., as well as teachers of KazATU.

On December 23, 2020, an international scientific and methodological seminar "DISTANCE LEARNING: ORGANIZATION, MANAGEMENT AND MODELS" with the participation of foreign and domestic methodologists. The purpose of the seminar was to discuss topical issues of distance learning, exchange best practices.

The scientific and methodological seminar was attended by colleagues from foreign countries: Tashkent State Agrarian University (Uzbekistan); the Resource Center of the National Education of Bashkortostan (Russia); Hobda University (Mongolia), Karakalpak State Medical Institute named after Aziniyaz (Uzbekistan). Foreign guests shared their experience related to the organization of distance learning.

Kazakh scientists from universities such as Pavlodar GPU, West Kazakhstan Medical University named after M.Ospanov and others also took an active part in the seminar.   

In the 2019-2020 academic year, the work of the teaching staff of the department on the search topic "Linguistic features of the works of writers of Northern Kazakhstan" has begun and continues. Within the framework of this topic, articles have been published in leading journals of Kazakhstan, near and far abroad. In the current 2021-2022 academic year, work on a collective monograph is planned.

OLYMPIADS IN KAZAKH AND RUSSIAN LANGUAGES

The organization of intra-university and republican Olympiads in Kazakh and Russian languages for students and schoolchildren has become systematic.

The department implements career guidance work through the educational process, work with students both outside and within the walls of the university.  

Russian Russian Language Olympiad for Kazakh schools and Kazakh language for Russian schools of the republic was held on February 14, 2020. The Olympiad was held in 2 rounds. Like all the events of the department, the Olympiad resulted in a large-scale competition of knowledge. During the preparation of the Olympiad, the head of the department, Tleulesova A.Sh., directed efforts to ensure that the program included not only competitive tests in language proficiency, meetings with students, excursions to academic buildings, libraries of the university. The participants of the Olympiad were given the opportunity to show their knowledge and talents, get to know S.Seifullin KazATU better.

More than 130 schoolchildren from the capital, Pavlodar, Karaganda, Kostanay, Kokshetau, Arkalyk, Ekibastuz, Stepnogorsk and other cities of Kazakhstan took part in the Olympiad. The winners were awarded with diplomas and certificates.  Teachers who prepared schoolchildren for the Olympiad were also noted with letters of thanks. The students showed great interest in KAZAT, expressed a desire to study here, and were interested in the specialties of the university.

EDUCATIONAL WORK WITH STUDENTS

For the purpose of moral and patriotic education of students, it has become traditional to hold events with the participation of students, these are various meetings, round tables, conversations, open lectures, debates.

The annual holding of the Republican Contest of Young Poets has become a tradition. In November 2019, the First Republican Contest was held.

In November 2020 - the II Republican contest of young poets "MEN - KAZAKPYN, BIIKPIN, BAYTAK ELMIN", dedicated to the 126th anniversary of Saken Seifullin and the 100th anniversary of Zhuban Moldagaliev, which was attended by young talents from different universities of Kazakhstan.

On November 5, 2021 (in the current 2021-2022 academic year), the III Republican contest of Young poets "Uly dala uni" was held, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the 127th anniversary of the birth of Saken Seifullin. The purpose of the competition is to identify the most creative, thoughtful, promising, knowledgeable young people among the youth.

The staff of the department continues to carry out purposeful educational work with students. Every year, the department actively participates in the preparation and celebration of national holidays of the country, such as "Independence Day", "Nauryz", "Victory Day", "Constitution Day", conducts various events on the topic, scope, nature and direction, reviews, curatorial hours, lectures for students on the topics: "The Constitution is the basic law of the country", "The Path to Independence", "Victory Day", "State symbols of Kazakhstan".

In 2021-2022, the teachers of the department within the framework of the program article of the First President of the country N.A.Nazarbayev "Looking into the future: modernization of public consciousness" took an active part in conducting introductory lectures in student dormitories; educational events were held: a round table "Tolerance is an important factor in teaching and educating the younger generation" (Tuksaitova R.O., Omarova G.T., Albekova A.Sh.), a conversation "Language is evidence of identity" (Tuleuzhanova Zh.M.), a business game "Experts" (Week of Languages) (Kukenova G.A.,), "Language is the wealth of the people" (Omarova G.T., Aldabergenova A.S.), "Knowledge is the road to the future" (K.H.Rakhimzhanov, Z.K.Kurmanova) and many others.

In the 2021-2022 academic year, it is planned to conduct educational activities in the wake of the Messages of the President of Kazakhstan K.K.Tokayev: conversations "Modern effective state" (A.S.Tleulesova, A.S.Aldabergenova), "A new stage of social modernization" (A.S. Nurzhanova, M.K.Akosheva), "Ensuring the rights and security of citizens" (K.H.Rakhimzhanov, Z.K.Kurmanova) and many others.

It has become a tradition to hold annual intra-university subject Olympiads in Kazakh and Russian languages with the participation of 1st year students.

In accordance with the plan, the teaching staff manages the research work of students (from 2021-2022 academic year – Imanberdieva S.K.).  

In 2020-2021, students of all faculties took an active part in the scientific conference "Seifullin readings", making presentations at sectional classes (scientific guidance was provided by all teachers of the department).

  Active curatorial work at different faculties of the university is carried out by teachers of the department. Their work is based on the university's Regulations "On the curator of the academic group". During the curatorial hours, information and analytical materials on topical issues of the country's life are used, issues of the quality of knowledge and attendance of classes are under constant control.

On the basis of the department in the 2021-2022 academic year, clubs that unite university students by interests continue to work: "Daryndy zhastar" (head Imanberdieva S.K.), "Literary Lounge" (head Albekova.), "Rukhaniyat" (head Toksanbayeva T.Zh.). As part of the work of the clubs, various thematic events on current topics of modernity are planned: debates, contests, round tables.

Today the department carries out purposeful work to improve the quality of teaching and education of students, actively works on the problems of comparative and typological research of different structural languages - Kazakh and Russian, theory and practice of translation, intercultural communication, etc. All this testifies to the proper level of development of humanitarian thought at the department and at the faculty as a whole.
